I've seen logos added to Sonic Hacks. The question is, how do I add the Fantastic Fish Games and Sonic Hacking logo and sound?

You need to make it so that you are using graphics and sounds that will fit into the hardware's limitations for a start.

    OK, that's helpful. Thanks!

But does anyone know what to do after the first step?

I'm pretty sure that you can import that image into SonMapEd and it'll create a palette which fits into the hardware limits. But, I do suggest you get a more simple image that doesn't have as many colours and isn't from Cool Text. Also there is a SonMapEd Tutorial on Sonic Retro, which can be found in the links below:

    SCHG How-to:Use SonMapEd/Part 1

    SCHG How-to:Use SonMapEd/Part 2

(It might be slow since it appears that the CultNET server is crapping out again)

That doesn't seem to be very applicable to my question. I don't want to make Sonic have a T-shirt that says Fantastic Fish, I want a logo that I can use for the Xenowhirl 2007 sonic 2 disassembly. Sorry if I was unclear.

I know, but that tutorial is great for getting the basic gist of SonMapEd.

Good point. I'll try it. But I lack the ASM skills. (Any links to tutorials possibly?)

The best way to learn ASM is not to read guides. You should do trial and error to figure out stuff. Sure, reading redhotsonic's ASM guide would be a bit helpful, but actually it just tells you some commands. It's like an alphabet, even you know all the letters, you still need to know how to put them in a logical order. Otherwise, ervey wrod wuodl lkoo lkei tsih. I learned speaking and writing by doing that, so I did the same with ASM.

Are you trying to do a support screen like sonic2beta and SSRG? Sorry just a little unclear on how you explained your question.

How about copying the segascreen routine in sonic 1.asm,(yes you will need to know some basic asm, like renaming routines and files) and try editing the enigma mappings with planED. If you are editing sonic 1 then you will have to set up the files yourself.(which I have failed to do at the moment)But I assume its for sonic 2 if you are doing it for your hack? then you have an easier job, because the files are set up already, you just have to open the files in planED to edit them. I hope this gave you a basic idea of how you would attempt to do this.

Well since he hasn't started to learn Assembly, that idea is out of the window. :p

Well if he wants to do a splash screen, he's going to have to learn asm anyways.

I've started, technically, but I'm not very learned, so you're right.

Thanks for the mention of PlaneEd! I used that, and here's what I got!

You don't need ASM skills to improve art skills. ;)
