Hello guys, I seem to have found an unusual problem as I am sure I am doing everything right. I have been putting all solids on blocks, saved the dat, build ect. And then when I go to stand on the object I still full through. The solid is FF solid so it is a complete solid of the block, and this is for my edited labyrinth zone. Here is a pic in SonED2,

and in game. A little hard to see, but sonic has fallen through the blocks that are solid. I really wanted to complete lz, for my release of sonic revelation this week. But if I can't fix this then it will be on hold. Please I hope somene can help me solve this problem.

The possibilities of what could cause this here are endless, and from the information I can see, I'm not 100% decided. Maybe someone else can spot it from that screen but I can't. It looks like you are using Sonic 1 which rules out some of my initial thoughts. I've got to confess, you've got my curiosity piqued! I'm really intruiged. I don't know if you'd be willing to let me have a look myself, but even if you aren't, if you come on IRC I will sit and thrash this out with you, until we work it out. Its probably really simple. If you don't use IRC let me know and we can just carry on here or come to some other arrangement. Contest is very soon, so you'll want to be rapid about it if you want my help. I'll be online tomorrow working towards the contest myself, and we're in the same time zone so you should be able to catch me at some point.

Giving a 16x16 mapped tile a solidity map isn't enough. Solidity must be set in every 16x16 mapped tile within a 128x128/256x256 tiles, the solidity settings are "All Solid, Top Solid, L/R/B Solid, or Not Solid" - the meaing of each setting is pretty self explanatory. Failure to grasp this simple concept gives the result you're getting.

I was tinkering with solidity back in the day of the original SonED, not long after Nemesis released his various compressors and decompressors. The only way to do it was through the use of a hex editor and some trial and error. Chaos/Magus made things even sweeter when he released The Sega Data Compressor (TSDC) Suite, no more having to deal with the command line.

He's clearly done both, since you can see the assigned height map in the block editor AND you can see where he's assigned the various types of solidity in the chunk editor. He's actually using evey single type you mentioned in that screenshot. This is why its so intruiging.

I thank you all for your help, I will not include LZ in the first release of my hack. I do have a little more detail that may help solve the problem. I have of course been editing tiles, blocks, ect. And I have been porting BGs via pcx. By doing this, I had to delete some current chunks, and so had to replace orignal chunks with other chunks. I have been fiddling around some more, and tested the level once again. Now some solid chunks work and some don't, and at the begining of lz3, you know when the waterfalls loop. Well the first time you go through the waterfalls, its actually solid. The second time round, you fall through blocks. And you can't reach the switch, because even though the solids are also all solid, and I double checked, in fact triple checked, you still fall through. This is quite a big problem as all I need to do is fix this and frosty maze(lz) would be complete. But I'll keep trying, and hopefully one of us will fix this problem.

I've never used SonED2's revised and meatier solidity editor. Only tinkered with what the original SonED had to offer, and that was activating a 16x16 mapped tiles solidity within 128x128/256x256 tiles.

How fast did you fall onto the slope? If you were moving too fast, you will go right through the ground. Everything in that screenshot looks right, so I don't know what else it could be.
