I really enjoy the difficulty on this. My only complaint is pushing down while jumping. I played it useing an old genesis control like I do with every other genesis game and it has a tendency to randomly push down which is an issue.

This was the most fun I've had with a hack in a while, so keep up the good work mates.

I love what you've done with this hack; the second I saw screenshots I instantly thought fangame.

Not the kind of fangame that uses His World as a theme (along with nearly every other sodding fangame), I mean a great fangame that doesn't use the Sonic Worlds Engine.

What you've created in this hack puts most fan games to shame.

All three acts flow nicely, (I guess the 3rd one had to considering that massive flaming wall of colth touching doom) and the new bosses art is impressive!

The music takes me back to Sonic Spinball, the second I started playing the music put me in a nostalgic mood for some reason.

    Only complaints I have are:

The Sonic sprites; I've never been fond of this particular sheet. The sheer lack in contrast in Sonic's fur and gloves is one thing; but the majority of the Sonic Advance ctyle converted poses look ugly. That's the last time I'll mention it; as I'm sure you're fed up of hearing it.

The orbinauts have electricity circling around their bodies right? (Not sure on that one, just assuming) So why is it when I hit the sparks under an electic shield I lose it?

Regardless of the two problems I have with this I was blown away by Sonic Boom; awesome job!

wouldn't the orbinauts sheild thing make the game considerably eaiser? I think enough stuff is currently canceled from the electric sheild honestly.

I was asking in terms of logic, not difficulty.

Not really my thing, but I can see the hard work that went into it.

    Thanks guys.

Logically, it doesn't make sense, but Kain hit the nail on the head. We did initially intend that shield to protect against all lightning, including the orbis (I even wanted King Orbi's orbs to be negated) but this just broke the zone completely. After hunting down a shield it was nearly impossible to lose it and the orbi's lost their challenge completely, so we comprimised by allowing the orbs to hurt you even through the shield. As we are coming to learn, our 'balancing' was heavily in favour of our own skill level (pretty good) as developers, so maybe making the zone ridiculously easy would win over a few more people, but then it wouldn't be quite as fun for us.

Enjoying the chatter though, thanks guys

Also Kain - I had the same issue with an old gamepad I used to use - this is a couple of years ago mind - I guess the D-pad wasn't calibrated properly or something, but yeah, it would trigger the dive move when in the air pretty randomly which was quite annoying. In the end I switched to using the keyboard (WASD ,./) since it was a very old gamepad. On the plus side, the hack does run on hardware, which is one convoluted way of playing problem free on a gamepad.

Too bad I dont have a genesis flash cart haha.

I do enjoy the replayiblity from this hack as well. I've played it about 90 times since it came out (and probably died 2,000 times) and I keep coming back for more.

You can now play the world's best game on this new-fangled hacktube lark you kids seem to like so much. Why you don't just download your emulators is beyond me. Now get off my lawn.

And here people think Tweaker's the worst mod ever XD

In any case, I think I've said my piece on this already before. Good stuff. Look forward to future releases.
