so, reading the topic about the site's inactivity, it has occurred to me that I've never really posted anything here that's actually worth posting, this is either due to nothing worthy of replying to, or me not having anything worthy to post. I was considering posting a thread for BroTro here a couple of months back but have since decided not to, it seems unnecessary. So, I've decided to write something small just for a laugh to make an effort and be at least some use to the community.

Now I guess you could call it a proof of concept, but I think it goes in the more "Just taking the piss" concept side of things:

simply destroy the red box, collect what's inside, and double jump.

It's buggy and incomplete (and I wont be completing it neither), the actual flying physics come across as similar the Knux's gliding physics, obviously if I had more time to finish it'd be completely different and much more fun and impressive. But never mind...

    Have fun!

Is there a way to be as awesome as you? I mean, the basic idea is very simple, but I don't think I could ever do this. Anyway, there is something which is bugging me: In the real Mario games you need a tripple jump to fly, rather than pressing jump in the air. Oh, and a question: Are the graphics quick Paint jobs or ripped from somewhere?

Wow, Markey, I love you. I always seem to enjoy this type of playful, 2 minute hack. As with everything I've seen you do, even as a joke (like that kick arse animation you did a while back) it oozes attention to detail and quality. The dreamy music and the way the little cap flutters away when it's freed are the icing on this niblet of a cake. It's the sort of cutesy little idea that you seem to have in spades - there are a few people around so devoid of ideas that they could probably have a decent crack at basing an entire hack around this idea. As is, this power-up could easily take a bit part in a bigger hack and be one of the favourite features. Musician, artist, designer, programmer, charmer, seductionist... is there anything you can't do?

If we recap on the difference between Mario and Sonic's physics, you'll understand that the speed, jump height, jump speed, gravity, angle jumping, rolling, etc, etc, are very different, and I do find that Sonic's physics in game are more close to actual real life physics (mainly looking at the way sonic rolls on a hill as such, the fact that jumping three times in a sonic game can be more hassle due to not knowing what's up ahead, I figured that pressing the action buttons whilst in air would be more suited for a sonic game.

    Paint jobs =P

I'm all that? *Jots down on C.V.* thanks

I suggest you to change the default Sonic's playability to make him a bit more like Mario, even without the hat. Also, I like the idea of this hack.

    Great work, though.
