For a VERY long time, I have been slowly progressing on a hack of Sonic 2, but really I just describe it as 'My First Foray Into The World Of ASM'

Though, I have managed to bring it to a presentable shape, as follows:

    ASM Ed's:

    -Super Peel-Out with correct animation.

-Labyrinth Zone Ripple-Effect Enabled in all Levels with water. (Thanks to MoDule for the Guide).

-Supersonic Double-Jump code (it would be silly for me to write the code and not to implement it).

-A few ASM fixes here and there.

    Misc:

    -New Pallets

-Partial Level layout edit in EHZ 1 (I fail at layout designs)

-Loads of new Art Changes, for example:

    The rest of it:

    And the Download Link:

    2010 Edition (Latest)

    12/12 on Hacktube

12/12 - Fix ('SEGA' screen fixed)

    09/12 (First Release)

    so, any bugs, please say.

That wont really help me in making this hack better, though, at least you like it.

    You want help?

[speakQuickly]OK, The title screen looks nice with a smooth blend of colours for the blueish/black of the sky, the hud being moved in different areas (Split as it were) is a nice touch, yet not what I'm fond of, but that's just my opinion, CPZ, the palettes to the top half look different (I think they have more contrast) which I like, although please change the underwater palette to fit, that would be nice, maybe have it a slightly different colour other than pink (And also make it sort of fit the top above water palette. [speakFaster]Level select might need a little seeing to, something about it makes it hard to read the menu.[/speakFaster][/speakQuickly]

all-in-all though, it's an impressive hack, I'd say just continue with it, you're doing fine.

Wanna music? - The only things you need are:

The Sonic 1 Sound Driver in Sonic 2 -> I can do music for you, if you want, just tell me.

For layouts for use with Super Peel Out I should recommend you to ask Claudiar (aka Jose).

The recently written things into this hack are fine. I like your level select background. Remember me some graphic data from Toejam & Earl.

help in making this hack stand out a little bit more than usual.

    Silver maybe?

I know about that, I need to change the highlighted font colour.

    Glad you like it.

Thanks for the offer, when I get round to switching the sound drivers, I'll ask you.

Also, instead of the Sonic 1 driver, beg ask Tweaker for the Clone Driver, it's better, and it'll certainly help you out in the future (I could never get the S1 Driver to work without some bad circumstances).

    Ehrrr... Clone Driver?

    Really necessary?

I released a guide that steps easily how to turn the S1 sound driver better unlimiting the samples number with very useful and easy management. Then the S1 driver isn't a problem then. So, this is suggested.

    Wow, so many replies...

Anyway, Music isn't my priority, my main focus is on fixing that SEGA screen and sorting out palette issues.

EDIT: Fixed that Sega Screen, And messed about a bit to get Wood Zone Functional. (After CPZ in the level order or just press 'START' when the level select sound test is highlighted.)

    New ROM in first post.

As far as I've seen, the clone driver practically IS the Sonic 1 68K based SMPS driver, the only differences are, a different Z80 based DAC driver that allows bank switching, and Sonic 2 music decompressed and converted for the S1 driver, I think anyone who uses their brain properly, would be able to do this them selves =P

Ok, I absoloutely FAIL with level designs, my proof there is that I haven't even finished EHZ act 1's layout.

So i'm 'recriuting' someone to help me on that, if I can anyway.

PM me if you want to help, Please?

In fact this isn't better than simply use a guide to do a driver. My driver works as the same way, but just instead of decompressed samples it uses compressed samples. Well... for prevent rom space wasting. ;D

I have now uploaded the latest released version of T.HH onto Hacktube.

So, go play it (when it's back up) there.

On another note, until I get hold of the modified S1 sound driver (or the Clone Driver) for S2, no music edits will happen.

    Also,

...and causing a slight quality loss =P

Anyways, If you're willing to wait a couple of months for me to get a few projects finish, I could do a level design for you.

I can wait, Though, if you want a copy of the disassembly, you will have to wait till monday, since I don't have current acsess to my main computer till then.

I'm not making any progress on this until I can get myself a copy of Windows XP for use on Parallels.

I'm surprised that nobody has commented about my SEGA sound replacement yet...

Anyway, I'm PROBABLY gonna release the 2010 version of THH sometime soon, probably the 2nd.

    Stay tuned...

ARGH! I'm a failure at keeping up with deadlines...

Don't use Kega, it sucks. Use Gens. *runs*

Nah, seriously, what I like on your hack, is that you are basically a guy who CAN make decent palettes. Other people just grab out ESEII, clicking some random colors and the think they are awesome. But this really looks nice.
