Goddamit. I was just doing that to Sonic 1. Oh well, it was just a SonMapED test anyways. Nice work!

I like the grass and the background, not sure if I'm keen on the fg tiles below the grass though.

I decided to post here all the stuff I've shown and some unseen ones.

    (WARNING: LONG POST!!!) :p

I'm working on my own hack called 'Sonic Great Adventure' based on the ReadySonic source and I'm showing you stuff from this hack.

First, I'm showing a video, in which some little stuff (basic/rookie ASM stuff) and the layout of GHZ1 are shown.

New Stuff found in the video:

    - New layout for GHZ1

    - Now Rings give you 50 points when collected plus the 100 points when kept (you can still lose your rings and 50 points again but you're risking to lose the Rings Bonus at the final of the stage)

    - Monitors also gives you points! (500 points for the Rings and '500' monitors and 250 for the others).

    - Now you can break the green blocks of Marble Zone from the sides rather than just jump on them.

    - Alternative paths for GHZ1 (I've shown the lower path more than the upper one).

    - Rings gives you 50 points in Special Stages like in normal levels.

Just a little thing. I might be tweaking the layouts for some misplaced objects. So if you see some objects that have two or three pixels of suspension, just don't worry, I will fix it.

Then you have Special Stage videos.

And finally I'm showing you my LZ foreground edit.

    Outside the water:

    And inside it:

I don't know if change the background because it goes pretty well with the level art, but it's all up to you.

Comment and as always constructive critisicm is welcome. :p

Not bad, quite a few nice features. Look forward to see what else you can come up with.

My only problem is Sonic's Wal grab/jump; it seems he does it when you hard-run into a wall. It'd be better if when along a wall, you press A or something to activate it.

I'm gonna be honest with you, by using the Ready Sonic source, you have already got a load of features for you which I personally don't like. (I'm sure this is why you used it) I am glad your layout editing, though it seems kinda minor at the moment, or at least half is changed so I assume you will finish that. I'm liking the new special stages, however to me it seems you have just spamed the ring object and gone crazy with it. I would tone down the amount of rings to make it harder. And last but not least, your simple LZ edit. There's nothing wrong with a simple edit, but I've seen those tiles too many times I want to see something different for a change. Anywho thats my verdict, i'm sure others have different opinions.

All the features we can see on the video are directly from ReadySonic... your new stuff it's only based on given points collecting things and the different layout in GHZ... not much new stuff I think to show it as a new "cool" project... I personally don't like the new colors you give to LZ... Anyway, good try and let's see what can you show in the future :p

    Good luck!

    Ehhh..

Personally, I think you should go for converting the levels from Sa1. Replacing bits like that is messy and the end result is never very good.

    Edit:

Like this. The foreground is using only 12 colors and the background is only using 13 (1 is transparent) colors. Genesis displayable colors, and I'm sure it could be optimized further (plus it could look better with small amounts of dithering). It would be very easy to import this using SonED2.

Rika Chou: Tbh, I am planning on doing that later on. They are more like test tiles for something else I am working on....

Giga: Shh....nobody can know. :(. Nahh, just kidding, that is a later project idea though. 4 hacking projects, a disassembly that needs to be rebuilt from the ground up, 4 AP and 2 College classes at school, and not to mention other stuff, it keeps me busy, but a Generations on the Genesis has been on my list of things to do for quite a while, so, maybe this may evolve into it? Don't give your hopes up.

Btw folks, 2 hours after I published these screens, I went and done fix about half the problems I was having originally, also fixed the EHZ boss, but since I am starting from scratch for the sonic art, if you do anything that involves animations that DON'T exist, it goes all Sonic 1337. Luckily I haven't released it yet. Also, on a side note, wtf is going on with SSRG, it is running slow shit, almost as bad as Retro...

Not getting any page rendering issues on my end. Pages are rendereing pretty quickly. Glad to see I'm not the only one to notice the painfully slow page rendering on Retro.

Same as Ordos on this one. SSRG is fine for me and Retro is slow. Same when I'm at work, but I don't know about SSRG as it's blocked =(

It's working fine for me now, but a few days ago, it keep giving me an error message about the forums not being up or something like that, and the homepage was only showing the top menu. When I typed my earrlier posts, it was working, but the reply box was sluggish at best, and not to mention it took 30 seconds to load one page, which is considerably slow nowadays.

Most likely that was when I temporarily broke something.

SSRG barely loads for me sometimes, I'll keep clicking the link in my bookmarks sometimes a few times a day untill the page finally loads. Oh well.

I'll show off some shit now....

    [IMG] Done for Mr.S

And proof that I am working on the next demo's engine for SonicInferno

The engine is being remade in a much more stable 360 CORE base. So now most of the physics glitches are now gone and it runs a lot smoother.

There is some neat things in this new version. Things that I've tried out and see how it fared. More to come soon.
