Hi, I found a bug in my MZ layout. I don't know why could it be appear...

Is it maybe because I added the REV01 bg effects?

What do you think? Any idea?

Firstly, that isn't the original Marble Zone from the original title, it looks like a shot from Sonic Megamix or something.

Secondly, the most likely cause of this graphical misplacement is down to palette line usage.

The Mega Drive's VDP map planes work with 8x8 cells (or what we know as "tiles"), each "tile" may use 1 of 16 colours (0 to F), however, they may only use the 16 colours of 1 palette line (which is decided by the map data itself). Here, this Marble Zone has a palette line containing shades of light green and greyish green for the grass and bricks, of course there may have been little space for the blue to fit on the same line. So, they compromised by using another palette line with the same green colour, only having other "different" colours on this alternate line, this opens up options to use more mixture of colours with green and with more lines. Unfortunately, whoever altered the palette on that screenshot you have there, changed the green on the alternate line to a much darker green, and did not change the original line, so now the trick doesn't show as effectively.

That's all there is to it really.

I can asure that is the original Marble Zone tile... the only change I did to the stages look is the palette change and edit the layout with ESEII (yes, ESEII lol)... So I don't know where you are seeing the Megamix here :S

And it looks you are right... is palette related.... I will see If I can fix it and I will let you know. Thanks for reply :)
