That's pretty beautiful, glad to see this hack still in progress.

    EDIT: Grammar fixed.

Okay, glad that you're still working on Thrash, but it's strange that you again moved it to Sonic 1.

I moved back to Sonic 1 primarily since it's less of a hassle for me to work with. Nothing more to it than that, really!

I have to say that I'm glad that you guys are enjoying it where I'm showing it off - it's making this fire burn even more and I feel like what I'm doing is a hundred times better than what I could do five years ago. I definitely hope to provide something for you all to enjoy sometime within the coming months.

Great choice with moving back to Sonic 1. I personally think its simplicity allows for way more changes with less work than you'd need for a Sonic 2 total conversion.

As for that video, still needs some work (especially 45° slopes and the background could use some more liveliness), but otherwise it's definitely a cool reapproach. Looking forward!

Hate to double post, but I've gone and uploaded what music I've done for the hack so far to my SoundCloud. I hope you enjoy, there's a lot of work that's gone into this so far! Some tracks are unfinished and I need to go back and fix them, though (X5 boss, Heavy Rain, Drowning, in particular).

Also made a fair bit of progress on Act 1 of Aero Dive - it's nearly finished! Main focus will be on speed over platforming, but the acts will be more mixed up and a fair bit slower.

The level art looks great, but it needs a bit more contrast; when I look at it I just see grey. Also, are those unknown objects S1 path swappers? I'm intriguied!

I'm loving the music you've previewed so far. Very clean and is giving me tons of ideas as to how this will pan out. The loop is also looking a lot better than the sample I saw before.

I am sitting patiently in wait for the future of this hack.

Green grove act 1 from Sonic 3D Saturn for the win!. I like these, in particular the emerald coast 2nd section part, and the red mountain in cave. Live and learn is pretty nice as well, but that green grove act 1.... one of my favorite tracks from the Saturn version of Sonic 3D and that remix is well done.

Super Metroid title screen as continue song FTW!

Really loving the music your making with this! Good luck with the rest of the tracks and the hack itself. :)

Sorry, completely forgot to reply to this!

Yeah, they are, though it's nothing special I've done. I'm simply working with Markey's Sonic 1 Two Eight disassembly, which makes the game run on 128x128 chunks rather than 256x256 ones - making it a lot easier to design levels for. Also means loops aren't a pain in the ass to make. xP

    Also added a track to the SoundCloud playlist above - you'll notice instantly which one is the new one from the context, I hope, but here's a hint as to why it's popped up;

(this isn't in game right now, but I'll leave you guessing as to what I'm going to do with it)

Aren't they? As I already said more than once, I'd take Sonic 1's system over those confusing path swappers every day. But this is off-topic here, so ignore me.

I do like the simplicity of how to actually put loops in for Sonic 1, but I was more referring to the flexibility of making the chunks for them. In regular Sonic 1 the loops are hardcoded in, essentially, so it's a pain to make new ones. I'd take 128x128 chunks and path swappers any day. It also allows for some more varied loop options, like the one pictured above or making a loop similar to the one that puts you on the top of the loop in Sandopolis. :p

Do you remember this annoying fucker from Sonic 2 Dimps Edition?

Well guess what? You get to deal with this prick in this hack too.
