I haven't been on for a while since I had to do school work or I just plain forgot and my hack hadn't been getting done either. A while back I got a build error and just shrugged it off because I didn't have time. But I wanted to start up my hack again. An Assembly Error pops up and I can't continue. I've read other places that it's because I'm using a Windows 7 64-Bit OS but I've done it before on my Desktop which is a Win 7 64 Bit. It doesn't work period now. I get that error and I can't do anything. (See link for error). Can somebody help me on this one? In the video I'm using my laptop which is a Win 7 64 But as well but this error occurs on my desktop too. This is also one of my last posts before I'm judged to be a member or not. So please If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit for quite a long and I haven't encountered any compatibility issues with ASM68K so far. It works perfectly without compatibility modes.

I suppose your problem is using the original ASM68K version, which doesn't support long paths. It would crash on Windows XP too with the same error.

Try this version, edited by Nemesis: http://dl.dropbox.co...401/ASM68K.EXE

It is exactly what vladikcomper said, we've had this mentioned loads of times before:

I am very tempted to go right ahead and replace the ASM68K assembler on retro with Nemesis'...

I had this problem too when I left my hack for years and then decided to work on it again. The only I was able to solve it was to transfer everything to a different disassembly. Soti kindly recommended me a disassembly and got me started by porting over a few things, then I ported a lot over and had to fix a few things and that was that really. Then I eventually found out that I could of used WinXP mode using a virtualmachine!

Or you could've just dual booted with XP. Fuck that virtual machine shit.

I tried to use the link given by vladikcomper and I get a 404 Error. Is the link broken or am I doing something wrong? Anyway could I get a new link or somewhere else I can download this?

Inattentively, I put a dot in the end of my last post and it was treated as part of the link. That's why it was giving 404. Fixed.

Thanks vladikcomper! The link worked and I was able to compile the Assembly to a ROM! Now I can start working on my ROM Hack Again! Maybe we can expect a demo soon? Maybe once I get things fixed. I forgot what I was doing at the time I stopped my hack.

Then why don't you? It would help a lot of people If they wanted to start hacking Sonic and not stop when then encounter their first error.
