Well, after seeing that, I've decided to hand SOTI a nice 999 day suspension. I'm hoping an admin will do the final deed for me.

Haha, I just checked the RetroHack forum and SonicBoom said "No Longer Working With SOTI" in his si, I think. So I think he found out.

Quoting one of my favourite phrases (modified slightly to fit the occasion) "This Hack is made of Fail and Aids!"

EDIT: Tweaker, can't you just keep on warning him until he gets 100%?

    I don't have to, considering he's suspended.

However, I could do it to you if you wanted! :D

Please, do. We don't need SOTI coming in with a hack that uses ESE and is 10% his work.

Heck, even I don't use ESE and I suck!

Well, I do for Checksum fixing, but nothing else, because Sonic Tweaker takes too long for me.

For those that do not know, Sonic 1 Epsilon has been suspended.

OK, since I've had plenty of ploblems due to the lost level patch, I have decided to restart from scratch without the ESE lost level patch. Instead, I am going to try to follow RHS's lost level guide & implement some level art. Emerald Hill may be turned into Green Hill if the art will load. Hidden Palace will return but this time, a one act level. Any of the other levels may not be in the game currently.

That was a pretty quick 999-day suspension

And SOTI, if you're starting over, you might want to consider starting off with a split disassembly (and SonED2) - it's much more flexible and it gives you a lot more options.

Well I do have that slow Nemesis one however where do I put the incbins in? Also any time I modify a project file & build it I get the red checksum error & if I fix it all I get is a nice black screen.

For the slowness, you can use an incbined disassembly (mine or Xenowhirl's, depending on your OS), but I recommend you use Aurochs' disassembly (a version with the bugs fixed can be found at http://info.sonicretro.org/Disassemblies). You'll have to make your own SonED2 project files, but that's really easy (although a bit tedious).

It actually helps alot if you know how to make the project files and want to add the lost levels.

I'm not really bothered with the lost levels though.

Also, where do I put the Aurochs disasm in, /s2?

I would personally keep it in a seperate folder from SonEd 2 (you can still use it) because it causes less confusion.

Thank you, the split disasm works perfectly after inserting S3K rings, unlike the Nemesis which made a checksum for any art ported in.

I have it in a folder on my desktop but, still works.

Aurochs' disassembly has the checksum code commented out, which also makes the ROM 14 bytes shorter (though the padding applied cancels this out)

Oh dear, another ploblem. If I open a project file, all I get is a black screen with no objects, tiles, nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Yo need to edit the .sep files so that the data in them matches the ones in the disassembly. E.G.

    Code:
    Object Def: objdef\s2obj

    8x8 Tiles: ..\art\kozinskix0BCC24 - ARZ.bin

    16x16 Tiles: ..\mappings\16x16x0BB944 - ARZ.bin

    128x128 Tiles: ..\mappings\128x128x0C1434 - ARZ.bin

    Level Layout: ..\level\layoutx048E94 - ARZ act 1.bin

    Objects: ..\level\spritesx0EB25A - ARZ act 1.bin

    Rings: ..\level\ringsx0E6294 - ARZ act 1.bin

    Misc: NONE

But change the info from the Nemesis DisAs to the Aurochs DisAs by looking in the art, layout, rings, object, etc. and editing the .SEP files so that they match the files in the folders.

That's the only problem with Aurochs' disassembly, but it's a small price to pay for the niceties. And anyway, if you plan to add extra levels, knowing how to make project files will come in handy.
