Even though stuff like this has been beaten over peoples heads so many times, I decided that, since I had some experience in the matter (and can type proper english :p) That I could help out. Without further ado!

The SSRG forums can be a little intimidating at times, but follow these simple rules and you'll be a productive member in no time!

    1. Read and reread the SSRG rules!

I've lost track of how many times I've looked back at this one topic, and it has definitely paid off. Follow every rule to the letter, or you'll end up giving everyone a good reason to remove you from the forums!

    2. Look before you post!

When you first get to this site, don't just set up a trailist account and start posting like crazy! Look at everything the site has to offer; the tutorials, the interesting forums, the site news, and most importantly, the trash. You'll find a lot of role models you should be following in the forums, and (in the event of the trash) a lot of things you should avoid at all costs (especially in the trialist phase)

    3. Type proper english

This has been stressed so many times, that I couldn't possibly stress it more than has been done here: [Guide] How to write proper English on forums  (you should click and read that link). Don't think about posting here like your texting someone. Think of it as writing a paper on Sonic. If you get an F in grammar, you fail and get kicked out of SSRG.

    4. Research!!!

Don't just come to the forums and start asking random questions! Look as hard as you can on your own! Use your search engine of choice to find your answers, search the asm of the disassembly your using, look at the SCHG How to section on Sonic retro, but for the love of Ordos, don't post it here until you legitimately can't find the answer without help.

    5. Just be polite

If you come in with your newish hack, or slip up on the rules above, seasoned SSRG members will often retaliate with a mixture of anger, swearing, and general discontent. Don't try to backlash or follow their example. This response is normal, and is meant to drive you to work harder at improving how you look on these forums. If you feel the need to respond to such a message, act as if there was little to no emotion in the previous post. It will get you far.

And that is all! I hope I helped :3

It is about time somebody wrote this kind of guide: It helps to introduce newbies to the strange way things are run around here.

    Props to you, Pacguy.

You should capitalize Sonic, ESPECIALLY since that's in the grammar section.

Not really. These types of threads have been done before, I remember Spanner did a Useful Links thread which I'm sure nobody's seen now. Give it a while and this will be buried too.
