played this myself & in GHZ 1, GHZ2, & SYZ1 this i kept saying to myself "AH TRAP". It took me a 2nd try to get through GHZ2. Game Over first try on GHZ2, 2nd try on SYZ1. Spike Trap, is that intentional? The special stages seemed easy, with the 2nd looked more of a maze. Mz1 seemed like a part of Bowser's Castle in SMW. GHZ2, there's a buzz bomber on the loop. A spring on that left, this shows "You're suppose to hit the spring & spin" am I right, cause i had to. caught me off guard.

I also noticed the Eggman fights, did you make it like "Eggman destroyed the background???"

Because it'll only fix if you put in the effort to fix it. I can tell you that right now. Bugs and errors only get fixed if the developer puts in the time and effort (and sometimes, money) needed to fix them.

    Make sense? Good.

Do you working alone on it? Because, maybe some beta tester that can have good skill at palettes, level design/layout can help you. Also, instead you release a prototype of your product, you can simply show some video or pic, so with that people can argue and thus in the process of feedback from people, you can go to improve your hack gradually, without haste and despair. Please do not rush to release an unfinished product, you have a unlimited time to work with your hack, be patient. Have a nice day.

And that, sir, is why I have failed to report my own opinion on the matter. Good show!

When the other members are starting to be listened to, and taken seriously, give me a buzz (I'll be waiting in the IRC).

ok. i made a few updates for this hack to try and make it better but i don't know if anyone will agree with me (to me it looks fine but that's my opinion yours might be different). i have decided to start again from scratch with version 3 of this hack which is why im releasing this build now. also im currently working on other hacks as well but any way.

Sonic G6 version 2 latest build updates (DLC improvement):

    • Replaced title screen music and palette
    • Splash hill zone music replaced with a slower less up beat theme for night hill zonegreen hill zone
    • "green hill" title card text changed to "night hill"
    • darkened green shading in green hill zonenight hill zone (with a crap attempt of trying to make a darker colour on some of flowers and rocks, yes i admitted that)
    • slightly changed level lay outs
    • added paused game functions (pause game then press "A" resets gamereturns to title screen, pause game then press "b" resets level but also costs lives, pause game then press "C" to trigger AutoRun mode A.k.a challenge mode using only jump to move left and right, pressing start and up at the same time makes sonic control the way he did in the original sonic 1 game, pressing start and down at the same time resetremoves all power ups)
    • tweaked the level select loading code to load level select automatically when level select cheat is activated allows quick access to level select but at some times can be buggy.
    • Green hill zonenight hill zone act 1 spike pit shortened
    • fewer rings (although people may feel that there is too little rings)
    • most dick moves (all common ones) removed
    • fixed upedited special stages (badly placed bumpers removed)
    • slightly increased sonic jump height (i can't remember how i did that)
    • Changed Sega logo and background palette
    • Updated spin dash
    Download

And thats it for it this hack. no more updates for Sonic G6 version 2.

Also please don't point out that the background in act 3s ins't fixed. i know its there and i don't know a way to fix it apart from changing sonic's start location. if you know a way to fix it without changing sonic's start location then please let me know by sending me a pm

Also the pause functions can be useful at times (expect for autorun mode i just added that as a extra bonus feature)

(please note this is my final reply on this thread)

(Also if anyone offers to help with any of my hacks will be given credit on release day of the hack they helped out with)

Edit: i added 2 more updates to the list. as i messed them out

Why would we bother critiqueing something you've admitted you'll never come back too? Just take all the previous posters thought into your next version; there's some pretty good general advice back there (I even specifically stated how anyone can make good palettes, within reason).

I, too, am baffled that you've fixed a few things but have no intention of returning to it. It just seems a little odd to me.

I'm still going to critique it, though:

    • You said your reduced the death pits. While this may be true, I still don't see why they should exist at all in the first Act of Zone 1. They are sill annoying and I died in Night Hill Zone 1 to one.
    • Sonic is now floaty when he jumps, as if he's on the moon. Why?
    • Pausing the game no longer pauses the music. Why?
    • You've begun to use object 44, but not in the right places. Some of your uses of it are using the wrong sub id as well.
    • There's some serious issues with the collision on your "custom" tunnel.
    • There are way too many red spring in Night Hill Zone 1.
    • Night Hill Zone 2 is now empty and devoid of anything for the first half.
    • You've removed rings, but there's now an inconsistency; large areas with no rings, and then small clumps of rings together in areas.
    • Putting invisible objects to block the player from going back in Night Hill Zone 3 doesn't really work. it's worse that you can just jump over them, and then you have to kill yourself in a death pit to continue.
    • You say the reason that the background is broken in Act 3 is because of Sonic's starting position. This is correct but I have to ask; why have you made Sonic start so far into the Act? It seems a little weird to me.

The problem I have with this, again, is that it's been, what, 2 weeks since your first release? You've now declared that you're no longer working on this. Instead, you have already started another hack. I don't understand why. It also appears that if you aren't willing to make this work, then what hope is there for your other hack? I'm not saying all this to knock you down; I'm making you aware of the problems so that you can use this information to make the hack better.

Because he didn't want to make a full act and he didn't bother moving the boss start position.

I'll never play joshwoakesm's hacks because of the subpar gameplay, just to point out, and not to thrash on the guy unlike back then. I just got better things to do.

If you have better things to do, why are you wasting your time posting here? Seriously, if you have nothing to speak, just don't.
