@LordXernom That's looking great so far! I will say though the shadows don't look right and make it look like the foreground. It's also quite blocky too, but if that's your theme then go for it.

Sonic 1: Windows Edition - another project I'm working on, but still I must learn more about hacking to do more with this concept of hack.

sunky slowly walks down a starry night as he makes one last hurrah to the heavens above.

no but seriously, the first one [Sunky.mpeg] was pretty funny for me. wonder how this one will be.

This reminded me of F-Zero & Super Mario Kart.

So which version is he gonna start? 3.1 & end with 10? (Not my first thought. "Sonic on a computer on the computer" was my first thought.)

The first one is actually Sunky the Game. I hope we either get more levels or a sequel to it.

Little more than a proof of concept right now, but this will come in handy later on.

Playing SFX over the music to prove it isn't fake, because I know at least one numbnut would argue that.

IT's ok, I still see bits of ghz act 1 in there. Alot of people do this, and I would like if possible for the layout to not resemble the original ghz at all. Also the monitors are to close to the end of act so you get the signpost art replacing the monitor art.

If you're the more comfortable with that more than the Hivebrain disassembly, then I say yes, it is.

While the level layout design isn't linear as you say, the art looks a lot poor. The idea is OK, but the art is lacking textures, the little number of textures which were made seems to be in need of luminosity and shadowing, still a aspect of a 3D effect could really make it to have a much better style.... much better. And your art looks very repetitive and has no depth effect. You really need analyze art concepts and stuff from other hacks and you need to practice a lot more in order to improve your art stuff. Sorry if I'm sounding rude, but it's the truth.

Thank you for the feedback RacingGames1984. I'm poor with art, I know, but I hope in future I'll improve for better with this.
