I see Eggman is cooling down the place =P

Anyway, looks neat! And the fix does look better (well, still anyway).

    Okay time for some replies:

@AverageSonicHacker: High Tide's palette is nice to look at but I can't say the same thing for Cosmic Station, both the yellow and dark blue are very bright and quite hard on the eyes, might I leave a suggestion for a different palette?

    s1built_001.png

You don't have to use the same colours here but do take note of the shading of this palette so that it can help you improve the palette of Cosmic Station, otherwise good luck.

New art for Scrap Brain Zone? I like it, it's quite a rarity to see new art for Scrap Brain so this was treat to see, also I took notice to Sonic's edited standing pose (his left foot), he looks pretty cool, I am looking forward to seeing more work from you.

Sweet! an end zone cutscene! It reminds me of Hydocity's ending cutscene, are there going to be more end zone cutscenes? if so I am looking forward to seeing them. Keep up the good work.

EDIT: Added quotes because of a new page

I'll fix the palette ASAP, but the main focus of that screenshot was to show off the new seesaw art (red palette rotates)

anyways, m8s, Im here to bring some negative criticism, as we couldnt evolve without it, right?

Royamedow, as everyone said, you probably should try and somehow correct that stretching.

ASH, as everyone have said enough opinions on SLZ, I'll give some LZ criticism. The art looks great, but that block-with-a-plant-or-something neds some work to make it stylised to new blocks.

Painto, thats great. I couldnt find any negatives. Good job.

T.N., well, the art is good, but theres some tiny bits of unedited tiles, and... well, that sucks.

I suggest having the grey background or foreground in a different color so it doesn't blend each other/cause confusion.

Going off of what LoneDevil said, I think the black offsets it enough to where you can tell what's what, but yeah, a little more contrast wouldn't hurt.

Can I use that picture in Sonic 1 Nightmare Edition??? Anyway on the topic of Back in time. Is the sequel going to be on Sonic 1's Engine or Sonic 2? Or is it an edited version of Back In Time?

Back when I last released my hack in 2011, someone made a comparison to Extended Edition because I had a hub stage with rings to enter other stages. Hopefully this is a solution; rings now contain a preview of what level it brings you to.

People only compared it to Sonic Extended Edition? Aren't rings used in almost every hack that has a hub?

That looks cool. Which palette line does the preview use?

It uses the 4th palette line, which dynamically changes depending on which ring it is. I had to rework GHZ to use only the first three palettes.

Could have used second palette line? Thats not used often in GHZ aside from badniks and few objects. Other than that though it looks pretty cool.

Out of curiosity, do the rings still animate like in Sonic 1 or are they stuck in this frame?

I assumed that it did use the second one because it looks like the ring it uses palette line 1's yellow, dark tan, and dark red. Anyway, I can't wait to play a new version of your hack!

I didn't know that about the second palette line. Oh well, what's done is done.
The rings use just that single frame while the image overwrites the other frames. But I've given them a hover motion to give some life back to them.

I could probably code a dirty renderer to render the big ring with the respective image, allowing them to still retain the rotating animation and keep the zone image solely inside them. Though a compressed art pre-rendered could possibly be smaller than the renderer code itself so there's some obvious flaws with it.

I like this idea, looking good. I'm kinda surprised someone hasn't tried doing this before.

OK, That is really fucking cool!!

EDIT: If you're going to make the ring rotate, it would be an even awesome effect, if the world inside it rotated too (I don't mean as in, squashes and stretches, I mean as in the whole world inside it rotates around (the background inside moves to a side revealing a different part of the background), like a mirror or portal or something.

So after thousands of resets in level design I have finally finished the layouts for both acts of Heavenly Hill Zone (EHZ). I am now working on Chemical Plant (which is called Toxic Industry in my hack).

    Feedback is much appreciated
