Probably not, but I will be doing some other songs, real songs remade, and probably a Sonic CD past track or two.

I have used the original Sonic 3 (Alone) Miniboss Theme as my ringtone on my phone(s) for years, and have always preferred it over the Sonic 3 & Knuckles replacement. I genuinely really like the track, and so was curious as to what you even meant by the description (I read it after listening to a few seconds of the track, as I wanted to know what you were trying to achieve here).

After my first full listen, it didn't sound right to me. The samples sounded of a higher quality, but the chords that replaced the existing notes didn't seem to fit right. However, I wanted to ensure it wasn't familiarity of the original track clouding my perception of this new version and so I proceeded to listen to it again. And again. And... Yeah, you can kind of guess where this went.

So, after several times of listening to it, I couldn't bring myself to believe that the original was that much different, and so I went back to listen to it. And now I believe that the original doesn't sound right at all. Like it's missing something glaringly obvious, but now it's more noticeable than ever.

In conclusion, I really like this new version. It sounds fuller, cleaner, and has that something that was missing from the original track. I just have to replace my ringtone now.

Very cool work with DualPCM! Are this have pitch wheel support in track? So, I not very like piano sound from 0:55. I hope that my team will be able to use it in HASE(Very secret work~) soon!

It has pitch wheel support (LFO/Modulation) yes, but it's not demonstrated in this track, it just wasn't needed here. Although, the detune flag (E1) was used for the saxophone to fine tune it. But, that's not something you'd be able to tell.

The piano at 0:55, yeah, I know. I don't like it much either, but, that's the way Sonic CD had it, and it's meant to be emulating that, so that's beyond my decision. If it were a remix and not a remake, I'd make a different sounding piano, but it's not a remix.

As for using it soon, it's pretty much ready and working, there are just some things to fine tune, and fix up. One of the issues is the poor sounding Saxophone sample you can hear, I mentioned it in the info in that video:

Unfortunately there isn't a one size fits all filtering, anti-aliasing, interpolating method, that works for all samples as each sample will respond differently.

So, I'm working on putting in a variety of interpolation methods into the converter tool to help reduce the linear resampling on the Z80 side from causing a problem. There already is one interpolation method on the current release, this is a mean average interpolation, but it doesn't seem to hold up on the saxophone. If the tool had more than one interpolation method, you'd be able to decide which method to use for which sample, in order to get the best results possible. That's pretty much what you're waiting on, once I figure it out, and have it flawless, and a few more demonstration tunes uploaded, there'll be a release.

Now you are making me interested. As there is just one concern I have. Is there really an issue with pitch shifts, reverb and other types of mixing? Cause I am wondering....

As someone who has only fiddled about with PCM samples a little bit, I'm very excited for the next release of Dual PCM! Although I have no idea how to install it into my current project (I don't have any clue how to plug it into the Clone Driver V2 ), I'll likely create another project just to play with the driver! The high quality samples is enough to get me hyped (my voice samples could really use that boost), but the volume and pitch control adds a whole range of creative potential! You could easily make ramp up/ramp down samples without taking up space, or even have an enemy change the pitch of its' sounds and/or the volume based on size/health/location/state/etc.

You know a PCM drivers good when it gives you ideas for new enemies and game mechanics ;)

On that note, adding Dual PCM to the Clone Driver V2 would be possible, right? MegaPCM works fine with it and Dual PCM doesn't have anything that would keep the Clone Driver from doing its job. I'm sure it would just require taking out MegaPCM and putting in Dual PCM.

Clownacy has mentioned a couple of times that he plans to do it himself, but hasn't gotten around to it. I'd imagine that he's waiting for the next release so that everything can be finalized with the extra features in mind.

MarkeyJester, you never cease to amaze me. Not only is this track you've composed technically impressive, it's also massive and I love it. Had to put this on my phone too.

I never really listened to much music that wasn't specifically 'video game music' (as you know) until you introduced me to 90's Jungle music through Jester's Challenge many years ago, and now I regularly seek out new and interesting music from a variety of genres as a result of your, shall we say, influence (Jungle, House, Swing/Electro-Swing, etc.). So again, thank you for that (and this new track) and colour me interested in what else you do with this sound engine.

Very fantastic work! The music sounds perfect and very unusual. I do not even know, I can not do better (fell into a feeling of hopelessness).

If you're going to do one last song, I'd recommend either Studiopolis (act 2) or Labyrinth (8-bit version)
I feel like these already amazing tracks will sound even better once completed!

    Yet another mockup.
Sonic and badnik sprites are placeholder. This time things are a bit more peaceful. For now, anyways.

    Yet more broken pillars

Not broken pillars and a yet unfinished bridge
    [IMG]

    Additional fixes:
    - Added variation (darken blocks) to the foreground bricks
    - Added extra grass to the background to a section that was felt being too blank (thanks to nineko for the suggestion)
    - Rounded curves, slopes with proper collision and a loop were added (picture will be posted here soon!)
    - Colors from some background flowers were edited (there's no more white. No more background colors clashing with the foreground colors)

Please ignore the bridge. Its art will also receive a treatment soon.
