SSRGs site is finally back open, now maintained by myself, Qjimbo, after OrdosAlpha kindly gave me permission to appoint myself as maintainer.

For the benefit of those reading on the forum, the url is http://www.sonicresearch.org

What I intend to do is allow people to get their projects up on there, giving you the chance to gain some publicity, and also try and take some elements of the site back to how they were back in the "good old days" (bearing in mind that doesn't include politics). For example, me, Nayr T'nargh and Jan Abaza have been working on a brand new secrets site that is a union of Area 51, SoStH and my own SRZ, including a lot of secrets that have gone undocumented for far too long.

The reason I'm focussing a bit more away from hacking is because Retro has largely superseeded SSRG in terms of hacking guides and information. Why try to compete when there is a better resource out there? However if there is anything hacking wise people wish to contribute, thats still cool.

If you have any projects that you wish to put up on the main site do not hesitate to contact me, I'm sure there's still a lot of stuff missing from there. Would be neat if anyone wanted to start up pages relating to the sonic prototypes drx recently uncovered for example.

Lets have a blast and really get this party started! Here's to a new SSRG! *clinks glass*

    Nice design. :)

I do see a few errors with the code, but nonetheless, I really like the template. I might end up getting at the site and modifying it a bit... fixing coding errors, and stuff. Nothing really major.

Good on you, Jimmy, old chap...

I'm quite impressed with it. My guides like Palette Rotation and ASM guide can be added to the site if you want.

Does RetroHack count as an affiliate? Other than that, nice work. I am excited about the return of the site. Any idea of how long until it is back at its former glory?

    Sure if you want =P

That'd be cool, are they not up on the retro-wiki then?

Sure it does, I just didn't realise you were linking to us. I've been trying to find all the affiliates we have. Do you have a link to retrohack's affiliate icon? edit: thanks soti!

As for how long till it'll be back to it's "former glory", who knows? We are in a very different position now than we were before, as most of what SSRG used to have has gone off onto different sites. It relies on you guys thinking of projects and running websites on here!

Thanks for reviving & giving the site a new look. Hopefully the tutorials will return, unless that's on Ordos' dead hard drive. :)

    Keep up the good work!

I've posted it on S2beta a while ago. But I'd rather it stayed on SGMC as I'm royle to SGMC. It will help get people attracted to this site if guide were only availble on this site.

Oh... I just wanted to point out... we haven't been called SSRG for quite some time now. SGMC would be the correct acronym for this joint.

    Sonic Game Modification Community

    ...aka OrdosAlpha's House of Horrors...

    That is all.

The way I see it, these forums are SGMC, but the site is SSRG. Game modification alone is far too narrow a scope for what I have planned.

    Either way, it's Ordos' choice.

To be honest, I'd rather go back to SSRG and create something to live up to the reputation of it's past instances.

I'm in full agreement with Stephen. SGMC is only known for, sorry to say, being a newbie infested area. I avoided it a lot because of some of the members. I know it has nothing to do with the name and I've really not been around here recently to see if tit improved(obviously the admins would have cleaned up). Going back to SSRG would be a good step, as it's a well known name and other reasons that I suddenly forgot. Go figure.

Well, I want a theme park, with blackjack, and hookers!

    In fact, forget the park!
