Menus in sonic 1

    How do i make more menus like Options menu and Save slot selection screen like in Sonic 3?

    ASM, learn it you must... though keep in mind there aren't any public disassemblies of Sonic 3 so you'd be in for a rough ride.

    Adding the PRESS START BUTTON isn't that problem. Does it work the same way? or I need to create a new object?

    However, there IS a public disassembly of Sonic & Knuckles, which contains a copy of virtually all the code in Sonic 3, so that isn't really a problem.

    But what about the menus? If I have to learn asm that means I need to know how to write letters in asm? Can you just tell me where do I need to put the routines for the menus? And do I need to create another object and add mappings for it? The level selection screen will be later.

    You could just copy the screen code and edit off of that...I'm not that familiar with s1, just a suggestion.

    No. You'll need to add all the art, create mappings for it, configure the game to load the Background, and then move the words. You will need to add the level icon aswell, but I have no clue on how to do that.

    I think i would be easier to add menus from sonic 2

    I've always wanted to add menus into my sonic hack lol, but I am not smart enough to do that :p
