Hacking Problems

    Right has I said before that I'm still learning to hack, so I used a text editor to rename a level. Everytime I go to check the rom with my emulator it only loads up a red screen.


    Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong please, also the emulator I'm using is Gens+.

    Just remove the checksum routine altogether, it also speeds up the booting process.

    Good 'ol USA.
    I'd download ESE2 (look on sonic retro) open up whichever rom your hacking and go down to fix checksum click it, click open rom, click whatever rom you editing when it says checksun incorrect click fix checksum and problem fixed.

    Or just do this. This gets rid of the problem completely. So it never happens. Destroys it.


    Not even let it exist


    OR


    Fix with ESE


    The choice is clear.
