Looks good. The blue shadow is anoying to look at though. Maybe an off black color, like a dark gray.

How can you "optimize" something for hacks? A screen is a screen. And a sonic hack isn't something that puts limitations in your ability to load tiles into VRAM and displaying them >______>

I know. I uploaded the original PNG I created. Because I was too lazy to take a screenshot of what it looks like on the MD... You probably can imagine? :p

Well, it's been a while since I updated on Sonic RAFed...

and this is all I've done since last time :-(

I have dynamic palettes for my new GHZ called "Summer Hill"

    Act 1- not summer yet

    Act 2- Nope....not quite summer

Act 3- YAY Summer! (I worked very hard on this palette =P)

    My awesome Marble Zone palette:

Fiery hot for a fiery level

Sorry... only one time period for this zone...

And my SYZ palettes called "South Side"

    Act 1- At Night

    Act 2- Dawn

    Act 3 - Day

For SSZ, I have a lot of things planned for this. I'll probably not only change the palettes, but once I get good at art, I'll change it.

In Bethlehem's South Side, the very urban side of town, a new casino opened up, taking over a large amount of what used to be a steel mill. (About a year before the casino's opening, the Transformers 2 movie was being filmed in... but that's besides the point) So be on the look out for cool things in this level, like new art for bg, and possibly cool little casino AND steel working badniks.

Palette for mountains temporarly, need some ideas on the palette. May even go autum and change the grass to an autum feel level.

It's looking good, just be careful when using the autumn colors in marble garden (reds, oranges, yellows, browns) that it doesn't give a fiery impression instead of an autumn impression. But I think you can pull it off pretty well :)

    WOW! Very Nice!!

The palette fits the art so well. I suggest a name like Temple Palace or something like that would fit more since it doesn't really have a dark atmosphere to it.

Shame you didn't make this, aint it?

Here's the original picture, from a genesis game called "Ultimate Soccer" :

Not only is the original better position wise, but the colors are much better! I expect to get suspended for this, but whatever. Why not cite your resources?

    As were me and SOTI.

I love the look of that Background, and the Robotnik statues look great (I've seen someone, possibly StephenUK, do something very similair.. Can't remember off the top of my head) but regardless, I can't wait to see the rest of that level art, if you do indeed post some more screenshots.

Except for the palette, that's exactly what my MZ background looked like, but I couldn't get the VRAM to load it properly, so I stupidly scrapped it, thinking I'd fucked up somewhere.
