Has anyone put those title cards before? I don't think so. A friend and I were working on those yesterday. We did it really fast, this is the result. Who's this you ask? He hasn't got any youtube or a google account! So you can't find him... I'm really pleased with the result. What do you think? Hope you like it! Enjoy!

Nice work. Using Sega logo font is an unique idea.

Might want to do that again - the result isn't very good. I'd suggest doing it in the GIMP with a transparent background with no Anti-Aiaising. Then you can round off the edges normally and insert into the game with a very clean result.

I see there is a yellow E in the HUD.

I know that, but that will be fixed later.

I have a newer build of my long forgotten hack that's been buried away within the depths of an almost full 320gb harddrive...

    http://www.mediafire.com/?05dvcy3rdspl0rm

You'll find a few new songs within the ROM, the Level select code remains the same, and the Debug/All emeralds codes are listed in the level select itself.

    Either way, enjoy it.

(I can only hope that i'll find motivation to continue this generic hack though...)

Is it the same build you posted in Showroom?

Not as far as I'm aware.

I believe the previous one to this build was released Feb '10, and my files on Mediafire suggest the same thing too.

    It should be:

That's because I took the screenshot with the TV filter on, so I could get an idea of how it would look on hardware.

Oh, yes. When I use TV filter, I also use scanlines.

Why are the white dots of the water in front of the little blue flowers? :|

    Looks great anyway ^^

I'm slowly redesigning the sprites in my hack, here are a few of them :p

Those eyes are only for scrap brain, in the previous zones they have the regular white eyes (with the slightly updated design).

Quite interesting. Those eyes look a bit weird to me. Also, the water shield in Labyrinth Zone... Seems like you use Sonic 3 shields in that hack.

I'm still undecided about the eyes. Since they're meant to be empty sockets, the green dot should be at the bottom, but I don't really know how people will see them, so if I put the green at the bottom, some people could feel like the enemies are looking "at them" rather than in front of themselves. But that's a minor detail, I'll decide later.

@SpirituInsanum and StephenUK: You guys kick ass! I love the art for Bridge Zone. The new sprites SpirituInsanum made are awesome.

Stephen, that art is fantastic. I could only dream to make pixels look so good! :p

Same goes to SpirituInsanum; the new Egg Prison looks a lot more menacing than before and the Egg Mobile revamp looks delicious. Very nice to see some very talented artists across the board.
