I just realized it's the third year anniversary of my hack's first release. Feel like showing some more work in progress.

I might sound stupid, but what is WIP?

The layout and object placement could do with some work, but other than that, the rest seems sweet. (My sound is off currently so I can't comment there).

Didn't really like it, the bulk of the art is good but the surface, especially the slopes look so jagged, it's horrible :x. The music sounds S4ish with the 'same instrument' syndrome. Also what Markey said.

I sure like the art! Only thing is that the music is quite boring... It needs quite the kick.

Some of the objects need straightening out, and the layout needs more neatness.

Also Irixion is right. Some of the slopes DO look jagged. Just keep trying and you'll nail it! :)

    More sprite updates :)

I like how the burrobot looks like it has two slightly different tones of red.

I originally wanted to change the attack to make it look electric. Since everything was blue I decided to make the buzz bomber yellow. It took some time to get used to its new color to be honest, but I like it ^^

I didn't want to show that one at first, but the previous two aren't really exciting... ^^' I'm slowly redesigning the art to make spring yard look more like a resort hotel-casino, so the zone art changes are still WIP. The golden shield does nothing yet excepted looking pretty and protecting the player like a regular shield, I just don't want to bother programming the homing attack right now (especially since I'm not a big fan of the homing attack at all, it's there for the sake of completion :) ) It took me so long to design it that I most likely won't scrap it, so if it isn't the homing attack, it will be something else xD

Is there any possibility that you can present an animated GIF of that shield? I'm interested to see how it looks in motion. If I'm overstepping any boundaries by asking this, then I apologize. Otherwise, those art revisions are quite nice. Excellent work. =)

Interesting golden shield. I'm also wondering what it looks like in motion. The burrobot looks nice with the revamp of it. And well I don't like the yellow buzzbomber, though I don't mind the electric idea.

What he said, that shield looks very interesting, nicely blended gold, and looks like it'll swish around sonic smoothly =D

A gif wouldn't really show the animation well, since it's partially randomized at one point. There is one main animation and the program has a low probability to switch randomly to two other animations after each completed cycle. Besides, since a gif may not run smoothly, I'll have to remove the 'bubble frame" between each animation frame.

I don't mind posting the gif, but keep in mind it really won't look like the result in game. I'll try to do that later today.

    edit:

    Here you are.

    And don't steal, 'kay? :)

So, as I said, it really doesn't look anything like the in-game result. In game, each frame is displayed twice (at 60hz), then the "outer bubble" once (a golden 1px circle, not shown here), then the frame and the next frame once each, bubble, new frame twice, etc. I included two animations, the "building shield" animation is triggered either randomly at a very low probability rate (so it doesn't continuously happens unlike what happens on the gif), or when the shield is activated. There's another randomly triggered animation, and of course another animation for the double jump.

I fully understand that a GIF file will not mimic the actual animation properly, but it's still nice to get an idea of how it looks in motion. And I've got to say, that looks mighty nice the way you've animated it...it's even better than I thought it'd be.

And be assured a lot of us have seen your art here firsthand and will not tolerate thieves, should they rear their ugly heads. A lot of us just appreciate seeing fine art and for that, I thank you for fulfilling my request. =)

    @Sonic Boom: I know, don't worry xD

About fulfilling your request, I'm not doing my hack to keep it only for myself, I don't have any reason to hide stuff people want to see. It's only that I knew the visual quality of this gif really wouldn't be satisfying to me.

@Markey: You have unusual taste when it comes to signature, but do as pleases you. o_O
