That looks quite interesting, though I never did get use to the advance series, how accurate would you say you're making this to the other advance series?

Quite accurate. Well, that's the idea anyway. I'm just going to try and try and try to make my engine as close to it as possible. Obviously that is the baseline goal. Sprites is a bit of an issue at the moment though. I mean, tiles for me is hell XD. Shame there isn't any guide for Sonic Advance 2/3s specs though.

I love it. =D. These designs are great, and it's a cool idea to put "ZONE 1" blocks in the first one and such. Good work!

Its a shame you don't like it, because it looks really good. Is it a sought of desert concept?

Hm, this one is very nice but the background needs more work. A lot more.

The only thing I'm a bit picky about regarding the art is that there seems to be a bit too much dithering going on. As a result, the foreground there appears to have a lot more shades as opposed to Sonic. Now one obvious solution would be to reduce the shading, another would be to use a new set of Sonic sprites (which I'm sure isn't in your interests right now). But those are my thoughts, perhaps another artist can share their point of view on this.

    You think? Thanks :p

I tried a lot of colors combinations, and this is the only one that looked good XD.

    Thanks

I was trying to make it look like a sort of aquatic cave. Maybe when I add a background it will look more like it.

There is no background :p (Still...)

I think you are right, I exaggerate a bit with the dithering (maybe a lot) and it doesn't look like a level of a Sonic game. I am going to reduce the shading like you say, and maybe take a look at how the shading is done in S1, S2, S3K.

Thank you! Your opinions are always so helpful.

No, the level art is custom.
