I'm new to this sonic hacking thing, and was wondering how to change sprites in Sonic 1 (specifically sonic).

P.S. I already did the disassembly jazz

P.S.S I also read somewhere that you could do it with soned2?

Hint Hint, you don't use SonED2 to edit sprites. Try SonicMapED.

    Missingno in Sonic 1 :O

Seriously though, I'd like to help, but I know nothing about editing art. The best I can do is to show you a guide. Not sure if it works for real, I actually tried to use SonMapEd once but I quickly gave up because I couldn't figure it out.

I can confirm that this guide works 100%. Back when it was first released, I followed it word-for-word myself and had no issues in the end. So if you're having problems with SonMapEd after following that guide, as Chimpo said it best..."you fucked up". So be sure to follow it very closely.
