Nice building, but is the roof meant to be sloped like that? If not then the perspective is all wrong. Also, are the triangles in the sky a placeholder or something?

Well the character's feet if you are wondering will be changed ingame to match the perspective. Also the triangles are just me trying stuff out.

Edit: Since we are still talking about the art I might as well post what I finished today. The level layout is jaggy because I wanted to fit in as much chunks as possible and how some would fit together. Also the tunnel is unfinished, going to round the edges like I did with the top slope barriers.

To be honest, I'm sort of fascinated with the triangles, not necessarily for the sky, but it's interesting to see how someone can use a single diagonally cut tile repeated in different positions (flipped and mirrored) to create different perspective shapes, perhaps you should put use to that somewhere on the buildings themselves.

Well, since I can't start a topic for my new hack, I thought I'd post it here.

I call my hack "Rage Face in Sonic 1". Basically I put a rage face character into Sonic the Hedgehog. It is intended as a joke hack.

So far, all the character graphics are complete. All that remains to do is the title screen, the ending graphics, and the life icon.

    Here's a screenshot:

    And here's a download link.

    Fixed.

EDIT: If somebody can think of a better name, let me know.

I added loading and saving of compressed tiles and tile maps to retro graphics toolkit. Right now retro graphics toolkit supports nemesis kosinski and enigma compression. Note that it does not support sprite editing but that is planned also in case you haven't noticed I am now keeping up to date windows binaries https://github.com/ComputerNerd/Retro-Graphics-Toolkit/blob/master/RetroGraphicsToolkit.exe.7z in addition to the source code https://github.com/ComputerNerd/Retro-Graphics-Toolkit

Theres not a lot to show right at the moment. We need more presentation. It gives us more bang for our buck... if we were to be splurging money.

Reminds me of Leaf Forest from Sonic Advance 2, but more MegaDrive style. Very good work.

it feels like a mix of jungle zone and angel island zone to me. other than that, I like how this looks so far.

I don't like the clouds much, but the rest is solid, good work.

I agree. Why don't you make the clouds more like the Green Hill ones?

I spent like 5 minutes on the entire background layer, I am absolutely going to fix the clouds and stuff like that up. I kinda want to put a huge foliage layer in the top of the background, dunno if that'll make it look too much like Angel Island or Mushroom hill zone though, I wanted to make it look at least kinda original  -_-

Okay everybody, I am back with another update to my new S3K hack! I added a new feature that let's you swap between the two players. Here's a video showing how it works.
