For some reason, Labyrinth Zone palette reminds me of the old version of Sonic Megamix ..., never mind. The others looks well developed, good job.

Are those .jpg images I see? :O

Anyway, they're looking quite good. I personally prefer MZ and SLZ's myself.

Don't know where you got that impression. Misty Maze and this look nothing alike.

he was referring to one of the older versions before they redid the art for misty maze. I can see why he said that seeing as it does very much look like it, though of course that's just me and my 2 sense.

That palette for Labyrinth Zone is familiar for another reason and I finally remembered why:

This is from Sonic: Westside Island; my old hack from 2008. Still, I do like the colour scheme because it works quite well.

Back on topic, I like your Marble Zone palette. I could never make a decent palette for it that didn't ruin other things (pillars mostly) and yours looks rather good.

@kelVIN: No, the Labyrinth Zone background is still too bright. It needs to be darker than the foreground.

Also, it doesn't seem like you did much to the Scrap Brain Zone palette.

Oh and one more thing: Just out of curiosity, where did you get the life icon? Not that I'm accusing anybody of anything here.

Also, any problems with the lava palette can be fixed by not changing them in the first place.

While I'm at it, I might as well post my shit too:

It's a custom level, Palmtree Paradise Zone. Ignore the GHZ/MZ grass, it's only there until I can figure out how to draw grass that actually, y'know, LOOKS like grass. Also, my apologies if the name "Palmtree Paradise Zone" is already taken. That is all.

    @kElViN: That's better.

@TheJeli: Unfortunately, I highly doubt that I'll be able to draw a decent BG for that. As of right now, I'm using the GHZ background as a placeholder, however I removed the palette cycling in order to get the palette to work.

Oh, and another thing: I have a loop, but I have no idea how to get the damn thing to work. (It's chunk $8, if that helps.)

    A very silly project.

    It has nothing to offer.

Now if only Dropbox wasn't blocked at school, then I could view 100% of the pictures that were just posted... I'll wait until I have access to non-DNS'd Internet.

Count yourself lucky, as there isn't a thing which hasn't been blocked at our school.

@Joenick - You might want to change the palettes a little, there are some details which look odd without. Good work!

@Hezon - While the background is good, it's a little bit empty near the bottom. Try adding some light reflection/waves, or maybe even an island.

Hezon I really love Sonic.exe so seeing another hack based around that creepy pasta is pretty cool. The background you posted bellow that is great as well, wonderful job. And Joenick Star light Zone is my favorite level from Sonic 1 so it's cool to see that you ported it to your Sonic 2 hack. But of course the palettes need work but I'm sure you knew that already. xP

That's better, but the water still needs more reflection.

Maybe slightly more reflections, but don't go overboard like GHZ. Looking good at the moment.

I'm seeing more things wrong with the image than the water itself. The first being the lighting on the clouds giving the impression the light source (safe to say is the sun) is underneath the clouds. I'm assuming that's not the case here and would look better if you fixed that (a simple flipping vertically of the clouds would do). Another lighting issue lies with the background mountains. The left one's shading suggests the light is coming from the left where as the mountain next to it implies the light is coming from the right, which is very disorienting to look at. The only other suggestion I'd throw in there is to give the sand there some texture because it looks flat as it is right now.
