Damn it, JcFerggy. I love this! The fact that you've thought of little details (like the collision of the character, the breakable walls, enemy hit points, etc.) show the attention to detail here. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this. I wish it had been entered into the contest, myself. Definitely a contender for some of the trophies.

Solar, this is too good for the "random hack" section. The art is beautiful, the music is awesome and is an overall great experience. Unfortunately, there are some dick-ish parts especially with the rotating spike balls that have stopped me from finishing the hack. Keep up the good work!

JcFerggy's hack is very well done, I can't believe I didn't notice it before. Even though Cinossu did something similar 9 years ago, JcFerggy's one is FAR better. I was tempted to record a video of it, but the FM jump sound quickly made me change my mind.

Well, since the sprite was from Sonic CD, I belive the sound was for fit with.

Also you can just disable sound when you record it...
(RHS please don't kill me, the quote was necessary I belive).

Since people didn't really ask for this! Here is a sneek peek at Sonic 1 Kaizo Edition. GHZ to MZ act 2 and the ending is changed (Final Zone included.) You can tho play through all stages. Download

With the feedback I get I will maybe take them and fix them.

    I played the hack.

    PROS:

    • It's an ingenius idea.
    CONS:

    • No regular levels in the game. This makes the hack feel very empty, and it's not what a minihack is. A minihack is a hack that changes one or two portions of the game, such as music, graphics, level design, HUD, etc., not a hack that is shallow and devoid of content. Masterful Sonic players can rip through this hack with ease.
    • The special stages repeat if you don't get all of the Chaos Emeralds. It's tedious when you have to go through all 6 Special Stages over and over again with no variation.
All in all, add levels. It adds flavor to the game. No offense, though. I know you hate me, but there's no reason to here. It's my opinion.

Well, I guess I'll update the hack because it's basically the only change in the hack. Then I really don't know what to add after the 6 Chaos Emeralds.

Wow JcFerggy's hack was posted on my birthday, and it was a really good one too! I think the best part though, is being able to run through the S-Tunnels [IMG]

As for Solar's Egg Blaster hack, I love the art and music, but the level design is kind of cheap in places. There was a point where a spring was directly under a ceiling of spikes, and putting spikes everywhere does not equal a higher difficulty, it just makes it seem like it because you're getting hit a whole bunch of times. I'm interested to seeing the hack progress though, if you continue to work on it.

    Welcome back, D-Leo!

Really creative concept you got there, and fun too! It took me quite some time to get the hang of the rotation arrows at first, but once that was clear it was a lot of joy, and also really rewarding once you actually got a very difficult jump down.

It's cool when simple rule changes can make for a unique albeit entertaining experience!

Since a downvote will probably be met with scorn, I'll put this into words:

Two guides in Sonic 1? Really? Most hacks try to bring something new and unique to the table, even the mini ones, and this is neither of them.

Also, the download link doesn't work. Not for me, anyway. (The page you are trying to access is not available for your account. Error code: 2C171/1)
