I am not flipping you off at all. This is the new boss area. And as you may see art is still WIP. Feel free to give tips.

For me the tile edit still looks like an unfinished rice. :D I wonder what this ball will do? :D Palette is ok for me.

Looks like an interesting boss arena. When I see that, I imagine the boss releasing the wrecking balls, and letting them bounce down the ledges in random directions. The player, would have to dynamically find a way to dodge these and hit Eggman at the same time.

I see the boss in pretty much the same way. The palette looks nice and the art isn't bad (ik, they aren't the focus of screenshot).

I decided to give recreating Sonic Mania's palette a go, and it came out pretty nice imo. What do you guys think?[IMG]

Indeed it does come out nice! Usually I'm against palette changes for the sake of changing the palette, but this is actually done to enhance the existing feeling without recoloring EHZ to blue or something. Nice job!

Just one minor nitpick, please put a line break between your paragraphs and the image next time. :V

Definitely liking the cartoonish world colours there, although I think the water could be a slight bit lighter, to mix better with the clouds.

New HUD art. It's a little messy, but I like it.

For the lettering, I would use black instead of dark blue for the shadows. It would make it easier to read, imo.

Nice HUD! Though I would consider what TSB said above, and make the colours in the letters brighter. Fantastic idea, by the way.

The old HUD design was being a bit problematic, so I instead decided to go for a beveled design like Sonic Mania.

A nitpick, but, the added white line makes your HUD resemble S3K's. That game's HUD doesn't flash red, though, it just vanishes, meaning the HUD never goes 'candy cane' like yours does. Megamix didn't pick up on that for years.

I do not actually mind following the already-existent design norms, original variations are always welcome. Still, is very good and high-quality looking!

Just a small off topic nitpick but every couple of years or so whenever I check back in to see where the sonic fan community is at and I happen to see Great Gate zone mentioned I see StephenUK credited as the artist? Look I don't necessarily need to be credited for it but I definitely would prefer if it wasn't credited to someone else. Thanks (StephenUK made the hack of course but the original stage itself is my work)

Edit: Not blaming anyone it just kind of got lost in time, and to be fair I have seen it at least reffered to as a level from sonic unity in some places which I appreciate. The new version looks great btw! I like those pots and the overall style of it.

It's not Great Gate anymore, we just haven't got round to renaming it yet, so with the new art in place your statement above doesn't really apply. That said, I've said on numerous occasions where the old art was from, but unfortunately when new members come in they're not always clued up and it gets quite tiring repeating myself. As I said though, it should no longer be an issue now the new art is in.

Ah, Great Gate Zone... My favorite fan zone ever made. Thank you for more information about it. ;)
