So yeah, on my internet crusades nowadays, I've been visiting other communities and picking up intersting tidbits. Oh yeah, and trust me, those communities are so much less stressful than the sonic community.

And then I came across this:

    http://www.romhacking.net/docs/352/

Did you know that there's a full commented disasm of Super Mario RPG? With offsets, routines, hell even tutorials? And guess what? There are NO ROM hacks of SMRPG. None whatsoever.

After seeing this, I've decided to spread the word. Hell, I can't hack SMRPG, but dozens of others can, and SMRPG is considered a classic, so I'm suprised that no one has tried a full or even half scale hack of it.

So yeah, spread the word, tell other communities...I'm just bringing it to light.

Oh and I just now found the full website devoted to SMRPG hacking http://giangurgolo.home.att.net/smrpg/ it's much more meatier than the link from romhacking.net. It shows the byte values, has a couple of disasms, even has some custom demos that show off some of the things that can be done with this information provided.

There's also a tool coming out that handles stuff like level modification and graphic modification. Check out http://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php/topic,5100.0.html for more info on that, but until then, there's a hex tutorial on giangurgolo's site.

Oh and so I don't get warned for anything, I ain't taking credit for any of this shit. I just stumbled across this. So don't zap me Stephen.

Holy shit! Now that's awesome. I've seen a few SMRPG hacks actually, over at Super Mario RPG Secrets(on TriPod server), but yeah, this is a damn good find. I'm looking into all this stuff.
