Maybe those aren't shadows and they just look like that? Maybe the individuals who built those blocks did it as an aesthetic choice?
I've been wanting to see the Sonic 3 2P levels remade into full-fledged single-player levels, so I honestly cannot wait for this.
I meant coding a lot of their harder to replicate abilities, such as Spyro breathing fire, Ratchet's various weapons, and so on.

Looks good so far. Been DYING for some S3K hacks for ages, and NOT just some simple layout-and/or-pallete hacking.
Not to be "that guy" but... how come most/all Sonic 2 hacks mostly feature palette-hacked graphics? I know some hacks feature new level art but...

I think a Sonic hack set in the Mushroom Kingdom should be based around the Sonic-style level design, not the more linear, slower-paced Mario-style.
