The Second one is way better and also you know that I posted a splash screen code tutorial that uses better compression aplib outperforms nemesis compression also nemesis compression is slow so use aplib I would highly recommend you try out my tutorial.

If it was me, I'd take the foreground palette of the "before" picture and make that the foreground palette of the "after" picture -- I'd just be curious to see how that would look as I think it might look a bit better. As for the background palette of the after picture, it looks WAY better than your before picture. The bg of your before picture is, no offense, atrocious.

    New options menu.

SSZ Past and Bad Future ported over — Past has water reflection wobble effect, Bad Future has the palette cycle with the lighting so far. The ports took me about 20 hours total of importing chunks, as well as correcting collision, porting code and re-writing certain parts of the engine to handle bigger numbers of blocks, chunks and level sizes.

Just a little something I've been working on for my hack. It's a little overworld sort of thingie letting you access levels you've beat or started, as well as resume your previous game.

The HUD also cycles through messages:

Special thanks go to SonicBoom for the HUD art and font. Thoughts?

For a Sonic 1 hack (I guess), it's not bad at all! Good work.

Fantastic work theocas, I am pleased to see that you've done a better job than most other people, at making a near perfect port of the Sonic CD levels, most other people don't bother with the unique effects such as thunder cycling palettes, and water reflection scrolling. Your overworld map, sadly reminds me of Sonic The Hedgehog Extended Edition, perhaps you should consider a different theme for the sake of being different and newer, your options menu looks quite solid though.

All in all, I am pleased to see your work progressing further, and hell, it looks very prefessional and organised and it's just... ugh, so fantastically executed, well done sir, well done! Keep it up.

You gave the option to turn on and off speed boosters. It seems you aren't gonna be working for DIMPS anytime soon.

Maybe because some people find these features difficult to do? (When I mean people I mean me lol). But in all seriousness, I've had so many(unique) ideas coming out of my backside, but just lack the knowledge and understanding to implement them. Even to this day, I may never reach this standard, not because I won't bother, its because I just don't understand how to do these things.

Anywho enough of my personal opinions on that: I will be honest, I'm am impressed by what I'm seeing here... but don't do to many Sonic CD related stuff... please pretty please! (looks at his hack, heh).
