I agree with the others. A looks the best.
EDIT: Added quote due to page break.
Holy shit, you know, I didn't even recognise it came from Sonic CD. It goes to show that there are some good designs in Sonic CD's background, if you actually look hard enough =X
Either way, purple is a nice fit, and "A" (obviously).
I rather choose A too, since A looks so good!
A obviously. I do like B but it looks worse then A.
I guess i'm the only one who likes B way more. A looks rather bland imo.
I agree with LuigiXHero, B is better.
I kind of preferred it when the BG palette was blue...
This is an update progress vid. Showing off the levels as they are now.
Feel free to send your feedback.
Changed Marble Zone blocks. I still need to change the ones next to the grass.
The small edit you did there was really nice! It gives Marble Zone a more metallic feel, and would be a nice touch if you're going for, say a grassy factory or something like it.
You need to make those minimise, maximise and close buttons actually work so you can interact with the level more =P
Hello. Looks like I have made it past Prospect and have finally broken the Limbo Curse. Now that I'm a member, I shall show off some stuff I did while I was in Prospect. I have finally finished Egg Plant Zone in my hack. It has new art and a new level layout (though there is some aspects taken from the older version).
Anyways, since there's a lot of screenshots here, I have to put it in a spoiler.
I would show off more of the hack but I've been lazily lately and instead I've been working on another project. What is said project? Well, I can't tell you now, but I could give a teaser:
Anyways, that is all. The trees are free now.
That background really needs to be toned down. Decrease the saturation or else the background is going to be distracting. It would be great if you could prevent most of the background tiles from sharing a palette with most of the foreground but I can see that sacrafices would have to be made. The background is also looking too repetative with single tiles being repeated for eternity across the x axis. There really needs to be some variations.
The foreground, however, looks great!
Edit: Your art is looking a bit weird but it's constantly improving. Rika_chou's Sonic 2 Advanced Edit had pretty weird art in the early builds but by release 3, it became really clean and nice looking. Marble City's background even reminds me of Robotic Ruin's background with its bright sunset (which I don't really like in either instances but is worth pointing out).
Edit 2: That teaser image has some pretty odd color choices in its background. I'd like to see more consistant shades.
Let's see what mindless fuck attempts to bandwagon this, and fails in the process shall we?
I hope y'all like boardgames~
HOLY FUCKING FUCK WHAT IS THIS I DON'T EVEN
Edit: Okay, this background art is freaking amazing. It really reminds me of Mania title screen, and i love it.
I'm also really curious about how this would play. Will be looking forward to a release.
I like this art! I so understood that here program Mode 7 is used? How many FPS gives out?
And I have only the single claim to an art. The most dark color at dither is too strongly highlighted among remaining colors.
Oh wow, what kind of board game will it be? Knowing you it won't just be another Mario Party/Sonic Shuffle
Also something about the blue outlines in the background doesn't seem to look right, I'd just remove them altogether, specially since it makes the palmtrees appear frozen when they show in front of the clouds (as if they were encased in ice)
I disagree completely, I think the blue outlines look fantastic
EDIT: I'm ready now.
To me, it just looks like MJ was too lazy to remove the GHZ transparent colour from a shameful downscale
Joking aside, this looks really neat! I really like the Mode 7 effect used here. I can't wait to see it in action!
