Good job on the logo.
But seriously, better than nothing I guess.
Awesome one. But I think it's not very different from the most recent one.
but mspaint 1 was better m8
That's kinda the point. 2013's and 2014's were both similar, because I wanted to keep things near identical with the site. Last year's site was due to be a lot different, so the logos changed to reflect that. Even though we eventually went back to the old site, we kept the new logo. This year I'm hoping to get the new site done, and hoping not to have to change too much on it in the future again. So, same logo.
Don't like it? :U Suggest a different one.
I actually like the one you did in Paint, even knowing that was a joke. So, I'd love to see that as "high quality".
I think the logo should be Classic Sonic than Modern... Besides, this year is Sonic's 25 Anniversary right?
I agree with HackGame. Besides, I like Classic Sonic's design a lot more.
Then again, there isn't really any reason to change it, since the only difference is that Sonic's head is smaller
One of the core reasons that my custom logos were using the Spinslash for Sonic Hacking Contest XIII and Sonic 02's Nick Arcade Demo Signpost Head for representing Sonic Hacking Contest XIV Online, I made it with those for variety in design to deliver a different feel annually, but it is reasonable for as to why Cinossu is using the logo that he had used for Sonic Hacking Contest XIII for using in this contest upcoming, he wants to keep the template looking professional while not having the logo be too complicated to work on (even if it takes less than an hour to make).
Not that I don't like the official logo, it's perfectly fine in its own regard, but if I had to say: Sonic Hacking Contest XII's logo in 2014 had made the text shinier to not make it look as static as how the Sonic Hacking Contest XI logo was in '13, presumably so that it didn't look as if it were a simple Colour Swap, I'm sure you were probably thinking the same thing on that when working on it.
That was a minor yet major attention to detail that I would recommend to add to this year's logo for that reason alone, but I won't debate about it if it is not changed, respectfully; everybody else has already done that for us, I didn't mean to be the one to (accidentally) start it all back on Page 01 by showing off my custom logo for others to use.
The 2017 contest logo is actually the one that I have real questions about, the core reason for it being that January 015 of 2017 marks the Fifteenth Anniversary of the franchise that was started by Ayla, and the fifteenth contest also will be the fifth contest of the franchise to be a part of Live Online Media, I feel that a celebration is somewhat in store for the occasion; given those truths, would it be wrong of me to ask or recommend for the 2017 contest to be stylized as Sonic Hacking Contest: Fifteenth Anniversary, as I have been calling it up to now, in order to pay tribute to all of the contests that have been held up to now since 2002?
I normally would not ask about future contest logos before the Results & Winners Thread, but Anniversary Contest logos must be kept in mind for future reference, especially provided how Sonic Team has made an anniversary logo every five years since 2001 (1996 had missed out, for some odd reason); the fact that SHC will be turning 015 in January is rather big for the scene, so treating it as such in celebration or tribute would be an extremely good thing for it, at least that be how I view the matter here.
I've got your point. Not sure if I understood what you meant, but it seems that the logo reflects that you almost defined the standard of the website. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Hahah, I loved it! As always, the art show your great talent as a graphical artist.
It looks like a logo. I think it's fine. The nitpicking officially stops now. We don't need a college thesis on our logo. Thanks!
The logo is wonderful Cinossu, and no other arsehole here could have done better. Well done.
On subject of the contest, I'm not interested in submitting, though I am pleased to hear you are working on some prizes Ayla!
TELL ME MORE about those.... WONDERFUL, PRIZES~! =D
First Place gets the coveted plant and some cocaine and hookers from me.
Well, hoping I can submit Sonic 1: Emerald Land this time!
Edit: Hope in this year we'll have more Sonic 3 & Knuckles hacks, in the last year, I really enjoyed play Sonic 3: D.A Garden Edition, Sonic: Cybernetic Outbreak and Sonic 3: Resort Island.
The good news is you and the rest of the potential entrants have plenty of time to get your projects done. =)
He's right! I'll let Spanner or someone else throw it into the main thread, but I suppose it's about time for the great unveiling.
This contest I'm actually providing Steam credit / Steam games. I have a collection of various indie and some AAA titles in Steam code format just waiting to be redeemed! Unlike previous years, I actually have the prizes in hand ready to give out to lucky winners!
Remember, if you win first place, there's always a chance you may (not) get the coveted, fabulous, HIDDEN PALACE TROPHY:
Can we arrange for a fund for supplying judges with adequate amounts of caffeine so that we can sufficiently survive the madness of judging all the entries? Please?
Don't worry, I'm kidding. Sort of. Maybe.
*nudges soda out of view*
I see Ayla has a plant but where's the cocaine and hookers? Don't break your promise mate.
Any who I'm really excited to see the response for what I've got this year
This will be fun.
If I win I'll gladly let Lazzie have the cocaine, if I just get THAT DAMN SEXY PLANT
(Also I am keeping the hookers!)
Cocaine and hookers sounds fine for me.
Ever since I stopped doing drugs, I've tamed down quite a bit. I leave the coke and hookers to SuperEgg these days.
