Here's another "Proof Of Concept" hack (POC), which has been designed to prove the concept that Sonic CD special stages can function on a Mega Drive/Genesis alone (WITHIN REASON of course).

This deserves recognition, especially given what it attempts to do and how much work the creator put into it. Very nice work!
An extremely neat concept of something I thought not possible. The Special Stages were one of the many things I found fun (and somewhat addicting) about Sonic CD and to see it done on the Mega Drive (with some needed modifications but it all still looks brilliant) is something both awesome and unexpected. Great work here, and something to be recognised. Also, although not part of the main point, I like the music choice for it =P

Umm, i got over 50 rings, and jumped in the special stage ring, and it sent me to the normal special stage, not the CD one

Try the stars that come out of the lamppost. The regular special was unmodified.
