Bump.
I have moved my hack to the new (and much better than any other) Xenowhirl's DisASM.
However, I still have my old files, so, if anyone wants to see what Oddessy was like before I moved, I have attatched it here.
I am moving the palletes, and may move the layouts/objects/rings etc. depending on whether you guys like them.

So far in this, EHZ 1's Layout was semi complete, so C+C please!

Expect Major Changes in the next Beta (Including Gens Compatability)

And remember to use Fusion! It is the only one that works.

Attached File  S2BUILT.zip   732.61K   21 downloads

Well, I'm not downloading Fusion just to play a hack that probably won't ever be too famous. Try fixing the problem so Gens can use it, please.

EDIT: It actually works with Gens. Amazing! Please stop trying to make people use an emulator that you like. Unless it was unintentional...

It does? o.O

That's something new.

Just everyone remember that this isn't a complete demo, but a proof of concept.

If you're going to release a demo with most of the changes being palettes, then you need to put in more effort into your palettes. Starting off they're not bad, but most of the levels don't sit well like your Sky Chase having an orange sky but with blue shading on the clouds. The layout is not too bad to starting off with, the only thing I found useless was the horizontally moving platform that takes you nowhere.

Word of advice, don't rush your hack just so you can release it quickly...great hacks take time to make. I hope you drastically improve on your next release.

Edit: To the post above, I think it depends on the version of Gens, I used Gens32 Surreal and it didn't work.

Like I said before, this isn't a release, its the final version of the old one, which was majorly incomplete.

I actually quiet like the blue clouds on the dark background.

It shows the contrast quiet well.

Well, I just couldn't be arsed to move it.

Or is there a hidden meaning to it?
You'll never know.

Well things are picking up again with this hack.
Currently working on some new stuff, possibly including the lost levels ad new ones, or other ones.

You'll just have to wait and see now, won't you?

Trust me, you will look forward to it.
I'm even looking forward to it. I'm well on my way to working on some level art, nothing huge enough to show just yet, but it's something.

If the clouds had gray shading, I wouldn't mind as much, but I just have a hard time seeing the blue in there.

I'm well on my way to working on some level art, nothing huge enough to show just yet, but it's something.

I'll keep my eye on this then, I hope it turns out great.
