OK, the validation system wasn't set-up like I planned, I forgot to alter a specfic setting before putting the temp forum online. If you signed up and noticed you couldn't do fuck all after you validated your account via the e-mail, then I hold my hands up. My bad.
And seeing as I'm in a good mood, I'll promote all those stuck in Validating/Limbo at the time I realised that I fucked up to full member status, and I'll even let display name infringements slide. But, only names I recognise will get this treatment, the rest will need to try their luck in the Limbo Lounge - so that's all but one of you.

That's currently on the to do list. Hopefully, we can re-build the main skin from before the downtime, and perhaps add some new skins to give more choice.Sweet, SGMC is back up. Hopefully we can get a better skin, this one seems too bland.

One more thing. I don't know if others are having this problem, but when I visit the site, I'm logged out, even though I selected for it to leave me logged in. When I re-fresh I'm still logged out, but when I click mark all posts as read, when it loads back up, I'm logged in.

I think that may be from the extra / in the urls, I can't recall if there's a way to change that in IPB or not though, but it's probably from having the board url set to http://www.sonicresearch.org/forums/, it should probably be set to just http://www.sonicresearch.org/forums since the dashes are included where they're needed already.
Scratch that, it does it when I close Firefox, re-open it and navigate back to here.

I only put a temp forum in place as I was still working on adding the main forums, and making alterations to the configuration settings. I wiped the temp forums, and shifted their posts once I'd got everything in place. So, these are now the official forums, minus custom skins - the old default SGMC skin will be restored through time, but I'm open to submissions of custom skins from fellow members.
