Recently, when I visit the forums, I get told there's a new post in a topic/sub-forum when actually, there's nothing new. It doesn't happen too much, say once or twice a week, but it's been occurring for about a month or so now.

Does anyone else get this?

I didn't notice it, but I think it happens when a new post was there but was trashed.

Ah, never thought of that. That's probably it.

EDIT: I just got it again. And nothing's been in the trash since 5am this morning...

Sorry for the bump, but it's happened again. 4 sub-forums have highlighted when there's nothing new in there. And there hasn't been anything added to the trash since I was last on here. Anyone know what's going on?

It's a glitch in IPB that occurs randomly, but on occasion it can be triggered by a database rollback. The only way to fix it is to delete all cookies created by the site.

Okay, I will do that. Will that solve the problem indefinitely or can it still happen afterwards?

Poll voting in a forum with no new posts will also make the board think there's been a new post.

The new 3.3.3 updated you installed the other day, has this fixed this glitch by any chance? I haven't got it since, but thought I'd ask.

Nah, still happens. Pretty much every sub-forum said it had new posts when I logged in today.

It must be universal then, because I ended up with sub-forums indicating posts where there weren't any today as well...

Yeah I've been noticing this too. Pretty annoying, you'd think IPB would have something that basic working properly.

Yeah, that's right we're now packing IPB 3.3.4!

Has this problem been sorted yet? Or do you not know?
