    Sonic: Super Deformed is a hack I am currently working on, and have been for a few years now (It was originally named Sonic 1: HD).

    It started in 2006 as a Sonic 1 hack. I slowly worked on the engine and moved it over to Sonic 2, and from there it's been modified to a more custom version of the engine (still feels like a classic game though :p ).

    first off, about what has been added, and what is planned:

    What's New?

    * Multiple Characters

    * Super Forms for each character

    * Sonic CD Spin Dash

    * Jump dash (Sonic Only)

    * Stomp Attack (Sonic only)

    * Super Peelout (Sonic only)

    * Homing attack

    --------

    these moves will be changed before the release, due to him feeling too much like Megamix's Shadow.

    * Double Jump (Shadow Only)

    * High speed Dash (Chaos Control- Shadow Only)

    --------

    * New level Palettes and Names

    * New Sprites, in Chibi/Super Deformed style

    * New art, including enemies

    * Sonic 3 & Knuckles style end level poses <- was in S1 version, not yet in S2 version

    * S1 Sound Driver/ With S3 DAC

    * New Music (some ports too)

    * Different music for each zone and act

    * New Level art and Layouts (Summer Shoreline Zone, Torrent Tower Zone, Frosty Falls zone)

    * Fire, Lightning and Bubble shields from Sonic 3, along with new, exclusive shields, such as the Leaf Shield!

    * Attracting rings from Sonic 3.

    * Hyper forms <- 90% completed

    * Hitaxas' updated S2 engine.

    * Ported Objects

    * New Objects

    * A new selection in the Options menu, allowing the player to chose their game style/moveset

    What else is planned?

    * Chaos Blast (Super Kill all- Super Shadow only)

    * More players (Espio, Knuckles, and Cream..or Tails, who knows)

    * New Special stages (level based)

    * New Level art and Layouts for other levels

    * A new selection in the Options menu, allowing the player to chose their game style/moveset

    * New title screen

    * New end sequence

    * More unique features

    Now for some screen shots of the most recent version:

    Summer Shoreline Zone

    Torrent Tower Zone

    Unnamed Zone 1

    Unnamed Zone 1's Background

    Unnamed Zone 2

    Characters:

    Newer Knuckles and Shadow:

    There is one more stage (Frosty Falls Zone). However, I cannot supply a screen shot at this moment, as the person doing the level art has not finished.

    Credits go to:

    Me, Irixion, Shobiz, Alriightyman.

    Special thanks go to:

    * Flygon

    * Kenny TH

    * Nick O

    * SOTI

    * Varion Icaria

    * Puto

    * MoDule

    * Tweaker

    * SMTP

    * Krigo

    * CarrascoZX0

    * Eduardo Knuckles

    * Hanoch

    * Anyone I somehow left out...

    C&C please. :p

    Suggestions about unamed zones: The first one should be named Revamped Robbery zone

    *runs*

    And the second one should be named Casino Carnival zone.

    Damn, that is some great work. I wish I could have posted this on retro but I'm pending membership. That is still great though and with all these characters and features planned wouldn't it be good to add like a versus where you race?

    Thanks for the support. ;)

    I plan to release a demo around October 5th, so stay calm people. =P

    ALSO:

    I am looking for willing and trustworthy people to join this hack as a team.

    You must have one of the following skills (and must be good at the skill):

    Level art and layout editing

    ASM (must know enough to make special features)

    Sprite editing (could assist me in the new character sprites)

    Team members will be reciving a demo of SSD before OCT.5th. =P

    I can do all 3 things, altought I don't think I have enough knowledge for Sprites and Level Layouts. But ASM.

    Just to say something to it. =P

    Although you didn't ask, I could help you with music, since Irixion's away. I just feel that the music you currently have needs to be better.

    Well, well. Music has been a slight issue, I know Irix's music was... lacking. I am open to suggestions and the such.

    Edit: I will be posting VGZs of some of SSDs soundtest when I get home. Some of its brand new, some a bit old.

    I call ASM and layouts. I am not that good at level art but layouts, I rock -shot-. I am ok at ASM. In fact, I am better than Selbi, Sam, vaan and SOTI together! -slayed with a blade-

    This now seems like "awesome hack but i need help with shit". Since Hitaxas and I had a 'falling out', he goes to look for someone else -._-. Good luck with everything.

    I never said your work isn't credited. =P

    So your not off the project, just in suspension since you don't have a connection on your PC.

    EDIT: CarrascoZX0 has joined the team to handle music.

    HOWEVER, I will accept music from just about anyone still.

    EDIT2: The VGZs I mentioned are below...

    Unnamed Zone 1 act 1

    Unnamed Zone 1 act 2

    One of many boss themes

    TTZ act 1

    TTZ act 2

    Double post, but this a rather vaild update:

    [IMG]

    Yes, One of my planned features have been added, with some help from Hanoch, who pointed me to a few routines. :)

    SSD Mode = Spindash, Peelout, Sonic Boost, Stomp Attack, (Hyper)/Jumpdash, Homing attack

    S3K Mode = Spindash, Instashield, hyper jumpdash

    S2 Mode = Spindash

    S1 Mode = No special moves or super/hyper forms

    Basically, you can choose how you play the game. For the ultimate challenge, S1 mode is available so that you have to get through every level without even a spindash.

    That's cool. One small thing that bugs me, SSD Mode could be centered a little better. Other than that I like it.

    This is awesome! But I don't think you'll need Sonic 1 Mode, since this mode has nothing special, and the people want special things. =P

    Sonic 1 mode gives challenge, so I approve it :)

    Also, make sure that the spike bug is enabled while in Sonic 1 mode :)

    Alriightyman, I already did that, and more:

    [IMG]

    Selbi, the point of Sonic 1 mode is to add some extra challenge.

    EDIT: Nineko, I think I'll set the Spike Bug as another option. :)
