In my hardly-altered version of the Marble Zone's Act 1, I am currently unable to access the hacked portion of the level. This is due to the fact that the game sees my area as being 'out of bounds', and likewise, treats it as an instant death trap. Is there any easy way of eliminating the problem (by re-sizing level boundaries) without disassembly? The program being used is the original version of SonEd.

    Thanks,

Why aren't you using a disassembly? It's so much easier that way.

There really isn't a way of doing that without one, unless someone knows S1 in hex extensively, but no, not really. If you shift data via hex then everything fucks up so I suggest switching to a disassembly ASAP.

IGNORE IRIXION THE LEVEL SIZE ARRAY IS AT $5F1C

EACH ACT CONSISTS OF A WORD TWO LONGS AND ANOTHER WORD FOR EACH ACT

THE FIRST LONG IS LEVEL X SIZE AND THE SECOND IS LEVEL Y SIZE

THE THIRD LONG IS DOWN MY PANTS

That still stands true. I don't know much about S1, but it wouldn't be common knowledge. Hex doesn't have any labels, and if he edited the rom extensively chances are it's not at that address that you said.

Just switch to a disassembly, I really don't see why anyone would do it the 'old' way.

IM JUST ANSWERING THE QUESTION THAT WAS ASKED

HE SPECIFICALLY ASKED FOR THE "OLD WAY" AS YOU PUT IT

HE STATES THAT HE HAS HARDLY EDITED IT

EAGER THOUGH YOU WERE TO HELP I DONT THINK YOU ARE ANSWERING THE QUESTION HE HAS ASKED

YOU MADE UP YOUR OWN QUESTION AND ANSWERED THAT INSTEAD

HE DID NOT ASK FOR YOUR OPINION ON HOW HE SHOULD EDIT IT

IM SORRY IF YOU FEEL THREATENED BY ME CONTRADICTING YOU

Uhh no, he said he hardly altered MZ, not his sonic rom. How can I possibly feel threatened by someone who can't read and uses capitals in his posts?

Like I said though, hex is a very risky thing, you shift something accidentally and you're screwed.
