Has there ever been a Sonic 1 (MS/GG) revamped for the MD?

    OK, that is just amazing. Did you create it all from scratch or did you use an existing engine? I guess not, but have you started implementing the levels?

    All 100% custom, all GFX drawn by me, all music tracked/arranged by me... everything by me. Actually the point where things stopped is the level editor, I have yet to finish it... so much to do, so little will to do....

    I might not bother with too much custom art, as it's already in the game. the only problem i can see is jungle zone act 2.

    Wouldn't it be somehow possible to split it up over multiple level slots, so once you reach the top of one part, the next part will load into memory while the screen fades out and then you start at the bottom of the next part and the screen fades back in. With no title cards in-between.

    Write your own engine (like i'm doing) or modify the sonic engine, which should not be too hard...


    My engine works in a "sector" based setup, there's always 4 active sectors, each being made out of 16x16 metatiles (each metatile is 4 VDP tiles so 16x16 pixels) and each sector is compressed. Only the objects in the 4 active sectors work, in all other sectors they're inactive.
