Honestly, there isn't much I can say due to how insubstantial this hack is. I suppose I could say good work so far. You might want to fix the spindash bug, when you get hit by a buzz bomber while charging and take off when you hit the ground. Level design feels a bit cheap in areas as well.

    What?

Anyway, I tried it. I like the palettes (especially SBZ2), but I will say the one that looks like you've been working on the most (LZ) is a bit too bright or busy in the background in a way that it's distracting me from what's going on in the foreground/gameplay area. I think making the rotating palettes for the background water effects a bit darker might help with that. I like the concept though.

Based on your GHZ boss, I'm assuming you're going for the 8 hits and then they go into a 2nd (harder) phase for 8 more hits. I couldn't tell if the MZ boss had a second phase or if it was just 16 hits to kill. Personally, I'm not a fan of so many hits to kill since the strategy in most Sonic games is to just repeatedly jump at the weakpoint and I think it just gets excessive after 10 hits or so.

    A couple of issues/nitpicks.

-The wind tunnel part of the first LZ threw me in between the walls and I couldn't get out. I didn't retry the level because of the next nitpick.

-You can skip the Sega screen and the SSRG splash screen with the start button, but not the Sonic Dimensions splash screen. I didn't want to keep waiting for this, so I didn't replay the LZ level to see if I could beat it.

-Maybe you already know about this, but your spindash still has the issue where it's vulnerable during the rev-up animation and also if you get hit, Sonic will do the spindash release as soon as he lands on the ground.

-It made me sad that the FZ boss died in one hit, because the Gunstar heroes music was just starting to kick in. lol

My 2 cents. I'll keep an eye out for updates.

It could have been written in a clearer way, but he's right: no screens + no media = no download, meaning that many people, including myself as well, aren't going to blindly download something if there aren't at least a few screenshots or a video in the OP. If I was still part of the Staff I'd even point out that having screenshots in the OP is actually part of the How To Make A Hack Thread guidelines.

As nineko has pointed out, there are rules that are clearly stated as to what a ROM hack thread should contain.

In summary, ensure that the hack warrants its own thread, screenshots are provided (not only to follow the rules but also to see what I'm downloading) and a description of the hack is provided (along with any relevant credits). It's also recommended (but not essential) to provide a video of some sort but this depends on the content (in my opinion).

That being said, I tried the hack and apart from a small art edit to the foreground and a level layout edit of Green (Orange) Hill, nothing else seems to have been changed. The layout isn't bad but it needs some refinement. Some of the objects and chunks are used in strange ways that don't make much sense and it was a little disorienting. I think that it could be good if you continue to work on it but at the moment, I feel you have released something way too early.

Or you could NOT lock the thread, because there are now screenshots on the first post.

Well you should have read the how to make a hack thread, before you posted, and watch that attitude, he was just warning you, it was nothing against you personally, but that's how you took it.

Edit: I just back seat modded but I don't care, I hate the attitude some people have here, and how they don't listen. Now back on topic, I didn't play it yet, but I may give it a try later today, and give my 2 cents.

Edit2: Well I'm back with my 2 cents. So far I see that your new LZ act 1 has new layout and art which is not bad so far, but the art still needs work specifically the bottom it kind of clashes with the foreground. Also your EHZ act 1, which is not bad, the only thing I didn't like was the bottomless pit you have, unless this is meant to be a harder hack there shouldn't be a bottomless pit in the first level, especially the way you have it, where you can run into it before its too late. Also with LZ act 1 layout, I feel like you didn't test it, which you can see by these screenshots I took.

The water tunnel got me stuck in this chunk

The doors was placed incorrectly so when the button is pressed they don't open/close far enough.

I think that is supposed to be touching a wall, plus you turned it incorrectly in Soned2 or whatever you use, so you can get hurt on the non poke part.

The badnik isn't moving back, and forth well he is, but very rapidly in that one spot lol So wrong subtype there.

another example of wrong subtype. Finally dun dun dun dun, the game breaking glitch. (was using Regen). This happened after I got a screen that said the hack has experienced a problem and has to be restarted, press C to restart, which I did but...

Crash! and glitched art, had to hard reset to fix, I suggest this be fixed first. Oh right I didn't explain how I got to the game has to restart screen, I paused the game in LZ and than un-paused, but I went back again and tried it, but it didn't happen, still find a way to fix this. Word of advice find any problems you can before you release a hack/demo.
