Aha! Google chrome blinks every TR element with an 1up monitor, when the monitor flashes.

No, the culprit is WebKit. So all browsers that use it for the rendering engine have the issue, but only Windows 8 seems to be effected the most.

@Stardust: I'm not retarded enough to use Windows 8. Simply using it makes me lose brain cells, and I try to avoid doing so as much as possible.

@nineko: IPB removed that bloody function from 3.2.x onwards. Fuck knows why. So, you'll have to click on every Life monitor icon to mark the forum as read.

It was supposed to be out in June. There's no ETA for it now. All that's known is that it's currently undergoing an in-house beta.

First thing I tried, made no difference.

I think it's clear that it is down to the browser now and not the OS, seeing as Win7 and WinXP are now being affected. I still can't find anything related to this issue online anywhere.

Well, there's confirmation that it's a problem with Blink/Chrome. Now to just wait for a fix to get upstream and into the stable branch, I guess...

At the bottom of each page is a "Mark Community Read" button, with sub-options what to mark, with also an option to "Mark all as read".  Unless I'm missing the point here.

They fucking moved and renamed it. The option used to be a button that said 'Mark Forum as Read', and was located in a more prominent location.

Just as a further update, it appears that the android version of Chrome now suffers from this bug.

Yeah, I just now noticed that. I was wondering if that was the site, or just my phone bugging up. Only problem is, this prom occurs regardless if there are unread threads or not.

Chrome on my Android phone did update itself yesterday.  Going on SSRG via my phone, yes, you're correct.  I'm getting this bug on my phone now too, except it doesn't blink as much.  Instead, during the static animation, the text and etc disappears, and reappears when the animation has stopped.  On my laptop, it just blinks rapidly during the static animation.

Now it most certian that this is Chrome's fault.

As Ordos pointed out, any browsers the use WebKit seem to be at fault, although I can't say I've tried any of them except Chrome. Firefox is just too damn slow these days otherwise I'd use that.

I just tested for this problem using two different versions of Safari (all of which use WebKit) as well as a WebKit SVN build. None exhibit the blinking problem. I'd personally lean less toward blaming WebKit and more toward blaming Blink (Google's fork of WebKit used in Chrome). Additional testing may be needed to confirm, though.

    Builds used:

    Safari 7.0.4 (9537.76.4) on 10.9.3

    Safari 8.0 (10538.46) on 10.10 beta

    WebKit r171319 on 10.9.3

Seeing as you insist on being a complete fucking dickhead, allow me to point out that you sir are the fucking idiot.

As of last night, at least with the Chrome browser, some of the forum names, icons and descriptions on the front page are flashing on and off for reasons currently unknown. I have discussed it with Ordos, and he confirms that he didn't have the problem using Firefox. I'm currently in the process of trying to work out what is causing it, as it only happens on forums with topics currently unread.

So with that said, stop being a prick and shut the fuck up in future unless, you know, you actually know what the fuck you're talking about. Getting sick of some of the fucking attitudes around here lately.

I wasn't too sure; thanks, Stephen :)  I use Chrome myself and thought that maybe the front page was having a seizure or something, and being epileptic myself that's saying a lot.

I'm seeing this blinking also - using Chrome on Win 7 64 bit.

Must be a CSS issue of some sort I suspect.

I hadn't experienced the blinking problem until last night after chrome automatically updated to version 36.0.1985.125 m.

Edit: but actually, the problem seems to have stopped for me as I just checked the forums page.

Edit 2: Nvm, it's been happening again for a few days now.
