I didn't think I had too because it was on the contest site.

The piece of land just before the tunnel to the boss. It has a section where you can go onto a lower piece of ground underneath (The higher section has the starpost on it). There's a strange wall on the left that has some uneven collision and if you jump at it at the right angle, you can go through it.

I also never said it was stolen. I asked whether it was a coincidence or not. The fact that you assumed I said that when I didn't is worrying.

It was probably the way I read it in my head, like the question was snarky. That's why I thought you were implying that, sorry. Also um I can't fall through there.

This hack is amazing. As for the bugs, I'm sure everything will be fixed eventually -- if I were you guys I'd wait and stay tuned for an improvement, this is just a prototype you know.

Regarding the boss arena from Retro Remix, I'll reiterate what I said over on Retro: I'm not bothered by anything that came from Retro Remix provided that you don't do it worse. I didn't really feel that the similar boss arena provided anything new, but it didn't hurt anything either, so it's really no big deal. That said, the floating platform gimmick from Dystopia Zone in your hack is from Retro Remix with one or two layout sections directly copied, and the sheer amount of lag introduced by the water effect makes the level as a whole worse, so that was disappointing.

That's nice about the other thing but I swear I didn't play your hack and copy layout sections. The similar layout is just a coincidence, I swear. Also you should be happy I liked your idea and wanted to try it out, I wasn't trying to offend you or anything, I just really liked how it worked, and want to try to re-create it myself, I really respect what you did with your hack, and I would never take anything to show you up or anything or anyone's hack for that matter. it kind of taught me how some things work too. If it makes you feel any better I had a lot of levels that used switches to activate stuff, but they were not available in the current release. Probably should have come up with another original switch idea, but I didn't think it would be much of a problem if I re-created yours, also I think it fits with the theme of the new CPZ/Dystopia Zone. If you still want me to get rid of it then, I guess I have too.

I showed off a video, what more do you want? =P

I quite enjoyed doing videos of these.  Mainly because I don't have to list what bugs there are in your game; I can just show you :)

Oh no I'm sorry I wasn't really directing it at you I payed attention to what you found, I just wanted people to find more. Also some of the things that are listed I never would have thought would bug people so much that's probably another reason I can't understand why people are calling my hack buggy. Some of these cant be fixed unless I have a better engine, to decrease slow down because that's why most of these graphical glitches are occurring, next release will have a brand new engine. Until then for the fastest speed don't use a sidekick it really makes a difference in speed. Maybe should have disabled sidekicks for the contest, oh well.

^ With regards to slowdown, I've already pointed out the primary problem in Dystopia Zone. Take out the wavy effect in the water; it's a huge cycle hog. Beyond that, if you're introducing copious slowdown across your hack with certain features, ditch or simplify the features. Aim for long-term enjoyment instead of a short-term "wow" factor.

How the hell did you contradict yourself within three sentences? You didn't copy it but you recreated it? In any case, it's as I said before. I'm not bothered by it if you don't do it worse. You must have looked at that level and noticed the immense slowdown any time you moved anywhere close to the water. The guide for porting that effect into Sonic 2 even warns of the lag it can bring.

I didn't re-create the layout I re-created the code. Forgot to specify that but anyway, it just seemed to me you were really cared about this and wanted it gone. It's hard to read people through text for me sometimes. Also with that guide I didn't understand how to convert the data. I usually need someone to teach me things directly for me to understand anything, I'm working on it but it's hard.

^ I don't want it gone, per se. I'd rather see it improved. Fix the clear problems with it and create something pleasant to play instead of something that only shows off a new feature.

Just posting a little screen shot to show this is still being worked on, a lot of you were hoping I did this anyway.

For the people that despise the extended camera, you don't have to use it anymore.
Edit: Bad news though is you can't find the computer room or bitches anymore.

    Ehh possibly, depends if the thing that is in the works for it gets finished in time, I won't give much away but I'll just say this, it won't be slow for much longer. That won't be all though, you'll just have to wait and see (;

Ehh it's just words, like I said if it gets done, no promises though. Glad to see your excited though, sometimes I think it's not very liked, but I know that's just me being negative. I mean Mega G and Johnny both said they liked it.

Is it okay to bump this?
It was in the contest this year, so I mean.. it should be. If not, delete this.
Surprised there's no other activity here.

So, this hack used to just make me not want to play it. I saw the title screen, and thought "whoa." I get into the game, try a few of the characters. "Ugh, this is just not very fun to play."

But then there's this year's iteration. I go to play it, and the first thing I do? Select Tails. "Wow, this is cool." (Upon doing the spin attack, and noticing how it launches forward.) So, I'm getting the hang of it, it's actually pretty fun. Can't remember why, exactly, but then I hit reset, and decided to try out Shadow. Can't jump with "A" (Y, since I use a 3DS, but I can change the controls on the emulator itself), but other than that, everything is feelin' a lot better than my previous plays in older versions. I get to the boss, and once the pinch started.. Man, I love that remix. Can't tell which one it is from memory, but it's hard to recognize it's a Pokemon battle theme because it's stylized so well to fit in. Well done! After that, I had to stop playing for real life things. But, man, plop in some SRAM capabilities, and I would totally beat this game now.

Other than that, the only thing I have to say is "good job on improving." If I was in time for the contest, I'd vote this one for the Tails (Community?) Trophy.
Similarly, if anyone else had a bad experience with this game, please; give it another go, it's improved so much.

This hack literally went from my least wanted to play, ashamed by the lost potential, to now being my genuine favorite.
Or, at least close to it.

This hack is extremely good, there has been a lot of work on everything, the new moves are flawless, the SMPS is great, the character pairs are very good, sadly, there's a problem, on an AtGames console, the end of Bayside Atoll's Miniboss crashes the game on an Illegal Instruction error.

Other than that, the hack was very good, great job JoenickROS!

The simple solution is to not use AtGames and get a Model 1 Genesis like the cool kids.

If this problem still exists, then Joenick go werk on ur gaem.
