Indeed. It's not quite fully realized yet, but it will be by SHC.

I know this isn't the focus in that gif showing it off, but the shading on the clouds in the background looks like kinda... Doesn't match the background hue all that well? Some tweaking might be necessary; the fade to the sky color is a bit jarring rn.

Thanks for letting me know. This palette took me countless tries to make sure it looked perfect. It isn't the final palette at the moment, but overtime it should change and will be finalized.

It ain't much right now, but here's a concept I had on the back burner for quite some time: Take the layouts and graphics from Sonic Jam on the Tiger Game.com and put it in MD S3K
    upload_2020-8-5_18-46-59.png
In terms of actual gameplay changes, I removed Sonic and Knuckles' air abilities like the Game.com versions. Knuckles glide was quite the hassle to remove initially (It's surprising how much of the spaghetti code you can just trash and the game will still say functional), but it's all sorted out.
I decided to use the special stage as a showcase since, despite how barren it is, it's the most complete aspect about the hack. This will be my first fully fledged S3K hack. Hopefully it could be ready by SHC2020, but I'm not putting that deadline on me, it'll be done when it's done.

Been playing around with Tom Payne's original Ball Hog sprites this morning and managed to get them into the game, replacing the Crabmeat enemy.

(Apologies for the bad audio quality)

I choose "After" below because the wooden yellow spikes makes sense than the green one.

    Productive Wednesday for me!~

I'm hoping by next week I can have the other sub menus up and running, along with some sound effects.
As for the blank spot on the right, once I create some models, I'll make previews of the modes.
I'm excited to be getting so much done, and learning so much!

I stumbled upon the pointer tables for the animated level art and BG deformation within the Knuckles Chaotix SonicRetro disasm, and added some WIP SonED2 ROMulan extraction and injection support for the AnimArt. With it I got Sonic Cracker's animated TTZ FG fan art uploaded into VRAM; however, I still need to figure out how the game knows to place the art to its stock VRAM addresses. Then I would be able to modify it and get the fan overwritten in VRAM, in order to actually animate the level art. But this is a great start from a research standpoint for Knuckles Clackers development.

I also stumbled upon this neat little object type/subtype pair in Speed Slider Zone, which acts as a nearly invisible spritemasker object in order to "hide" 32x sprites. I remember seeing this object almost a decade ago within SonED2 nearby the 3D platforms, but had no idea what it was used for. I bet I could hack its code, modify its visual shape, and use it for proper sprite priority for loops etc.

I ported a song I did recently to a friend's sound driver, by doing an MML port of it. MML file is within the video description! This is my first time doing MML and it seemed scary at first, but MML is really nice. Said friend has created a program to help visualize the MML further, which HELPS so much when creating the track, which reduces time from building and listening. Definitely going to be doing more MML eventually.

Also if anyone is curious what MML looks like:

Basic player movement! Proper isometric movement, dashing, and jumping. The player's base speed, jump height, and amount of times they can jump in a row can be controlled per player object. As well as resetting the player's position if they fall off the stage (Mostly as softlock prevention since stages will generally be walled.) My next plan of action is to create a camera system that can track multiple targets at once, and create shadows, because the outline shader I used causes the object to not cast shadows. I'll probably use a method like Sonic 3D and make a dithered sprite act as the shadow. I just need a script to make the shadow follow the player while staying on the ground.

I'll probably make a separate thread for The Elementalists' development after this point.

So I'm making a VGM album with DefleMask currently. It's basically my imaginings of the concept arts for Sonic 1. I'm not basing it off Nakamura's works, I'm just going with what my mind thinks. Eitherways, I have a verbose method of porting these tracks to AMPS for now. Here's a port of the second song I made for the album. I'm eventually planning to make a music ROM for the album with AMPS so all this work porting is worth it in the end.

Alright, I will take a stab at this. I assume the thing in question is Sonic's sprite. Which is actually composed of 2 pieces, each on different palette lines. One being the head and body, the second being only his shoes.

Very very close. But it's not Sonic's shoes.

My other thought was along the same lines, except the head was separate from the body, is that closer?

It's further off. The thing that is on a separate palette line applies to the whole sprite, it is not one section of the character.
