So I decided to finally post this here. This is my (Along with many others) hack of Sonic 1, to change all the art and music, while keeping the retro feel. No crazy asm, just good old classic Sonic.

My other topic can be found at Sonic Retro here.

Mainly right now I need an opinion on some new GHZ art.

Some people say the left for the extra shading and the flowy'ness, but others say the right because its less busy, and fits with the calm'ness of the level.

    What do you think?

The right one looks a lot better.

    Left look better.

Right one is too much like original.

    But its pretty cool too.

I've decided to stick with the left one. Besides, I have already done it 100%.

I still think the right one is better. Possible to give us a shot with that picture using the right tiles?

Maybe its just me but that background and foreground dont seem to fit in that picture. The foreground is a bit too dark compared to the first picture which blends much nicer.

I'm updating here first, since there is like no one here.

I used the GHZ deform, since I don't know how to make my own deformation, and with it came the water. I personally like how it turned out, and I don't think it clashes with the other water in GHZ. I have not made the palettes for the other acts yet, but I plan to later.

    C&C welcome as always.

I'm very impressed with the usage of Ristar backgrounds and how popular they are getting these days. And this level seems to pull it off very well! Do you plan on adding the song as well, or using original music?

    Small Update.

I was bored last night, and I learnt how to use SonMapEd, and the first thing I made were the Sonic Advance 3 springs. Now that I know SonMapEd, I will be less constricted with my art edits.

    I like the spring art.

A question through, have you planned to release the hack one day or you'll release it when it's done ? (just a question, not a request).

Wow, I love that background, it suits the level very well. I think the Ristar level it comes from is Planet Sonata.

Pixel Perfect has some of the sexiest pixel art of any hack, it has to be said.
