Hate to say this but, this is a sonic game, not a megaman game. At least add some slopes and curves like scrap brain/metropolis zones so it feels more sonic-ish. The art is nice actually.

Hate to say it, but my plot's more darker and mechanical based than standard Sonic games.

Hell, my main villain's freakin' Dr. Doppler.

Shouldn't the game be more called like "Sonic in Mega Man" then? =P

    Not M.Bison?! D=

Haha, but still. Cool stuff you got there. You should really put Mega Man in the game too. For a bonus or something. =P

Take a look at the links, seems like they're broken...

I'm sure he only used a hex editor and eventually the Mac tools for the 2007 disassembly. Anything else he'd have to use a VM for.

I might add my screen shoots as well:

All new zones and level select... that gives away the debug code!

    [IMG][IMG]

CPZ 1 got the water stuffs and a new, hidden shortcut. The water has the S3K Launch Base water effect in it, just like ARZ.

HTZ makes the air look 'hot' when you're near lava. It uses the 2P game over flag to enable the effect :)

Metropolis also got a pallet swap, and has a few new and modified paths.

    [IMG][IMG]

DEZ got a kind of more creepy? pallet change and some hidden goodies, and a star post between Silver Sonic and the giant final boss

    You spelled "space" wrong. :)

Anyway, looks pretty good. Not too much changes yet. (except for palette.)

Also, change the palette of Metropolis. It looks awful in my opinion.

Agreed with the MZ's palette seriously looks bad. The DEZ isn't good either in my opinion (don't say something is neat, just because you think it is).

Otherwise, it's alright, but there needs to be way more stuff done to make this more interesting, art gameplay, etc. Layout changes only might be cool for some people, but there's nothing special about them in my opinion.

Yes I would recommend changing the MZ palette, they don't mix at all.

No there shouldn't. If he wants it as a palette and layout only hack, it can stay a palette and layout only hack. Ell's hack is only layout, no palette edits. And I like it.

What do you think I should change in the MZ pallet? I did add a hidden path in EHZ1 and added some water there too. I am also working on putting Hyper Sonic in.

There's nothing wrong with just a palette & layout hack, I mean, just take a look at the many other "Decent" hacks such as "Westside Island" by "D.A.Garden". However, the problem here, is that we cannot see what the layouts are like, there are no video clips nor roms released, not that I'm expecting any, I don't fancy fourcing any project into that sort of situation, so comparing what you have here with other decent hacks is not giving this hack a good reputation, and that makes it hard to enjoy a project that way.

The only thing I can or will say, is that it doesn't look glitched to fuck, which I'm pleased for =)

The shading is awful and so is the colour choice. Both being obvious to anyone with an aesthetic eye.

I am currently working on a hack which is in early stages, but I thought I'd show off my art for two levels.

EHZ: Needs more work on the bottom of the grass, you could get something cool out of it

ARZ: Looks good, this could turn out to be interesting, keep it up :thumbs up:

The grass in EHZ needs alot of work IMO, there is not much to say because there is not much change.

You only changed the grass in ARZ? looks ok but you haven't done anything else, so I would show screenshots when you have alot more work to show.
