Very Nice to see someone port the Sonic Crackers/Chaotix Teamwork gimmic into Sonic 1, why no one had the thought to do it before, is a mystery to me, well done! Although those sprites of Espio are in Chaotix art style, which makes him stand out from everything else.
Edit: Forgot you also coded the character switch monitor, good job on that too.

it been done before actually (not trying to knock on his work or anything). it's in one of the older beta releases of brother trouble if you've played it before that you would see that gimmick in there. in any case nice to see someelse trying to put that to use in sonic 1 at least, though i can see you have some things to work out as it seems to slow down when one of them is further than the other.

I thought that was YouTube, plus I was viewing the video on my phone, and some times the audio is faster than the video. Also, I wasn't a part of the community when the first bro tro was released :p

block mirroring never looks good. if nicogens isnt working on his hack anymore, i guess you could recolor these stone blocks, they are some of my earlier work but they still look delicious:

New hack I'm working. I changed some art here and here. Also i edited slightly the level art added some new chunks and i extended the level to the right. Please, ignore the level select background - is just for fun.

Comments and suggestions are welcome :>

Interesting and challenging layout, but thank god you changed the spike insta-hit or else that'd be a nightmare. :p The palette seems a little dull, personally, but it works and isn't awful and all over the place. Please choose a different level music, however, or at least fix the drums, possibly speeding it up a very, very little bit too; it doesn't quite fit a full-on 1-player mode level, in my opinion. Overall, me likey. :> More please.

Looks pretty great, everything fits together well, and the colors are all good. The mountains could probably have a bit more shading, but it's not that bad at all.

That background looks nice with those mountains in the background from Buster's Hidden Treasure.

Thanks for feedback on my layout :>

    ----

There's nothing special, but these are probably the best things I did last week.

Sonic at beginning of 3rd act of GHZ (boss act). I'm planning to change the "ZONE ACT 3" texts to "BOSS" or "BOSS ACT"

Sonic running to the boss arena

Sonic falling at the beginning of Marble Zone Act 1

    and a little bonus:

It's certainly slowed down here within the past week, hasn't it? Well, I kind of wanted to hold off on this for a bit, but let's have a past GHZ screen shot:

Have to say it's not bad so far, though something about the mountains throws me off a bit. I don't know they look kinda soft in certain areas, and some of the tree's on them as well seems a bit bland to me. don't take this to big or anything, just stating my opinion on this. all in all looks great for a green hill zone in the past none the less. also did you shorten his quills? they look smaller to me than they did before.

That Background art looks amazing and really detailed. I also like the dithering job in the sky.

I agree with Blazer's comments on the mountains; they look a little pillow-shaded as opposed to the rest of the art's shading style. Loving the sky's colour contrast and the ground palette but the water being a similar shade of green to the grass and trees floods the scene with too much green, in my opinion. Another colour (or slight addition of a blue or red) would help even things out a bit.

Still, nice job as usual Shockwave.

This is what you would not have thought that the levels are empty and not interesting. :)

Nice work so far, your music ports in particular are tastefully well done, very accurate stuffs!

The level design is pretty good, though the layout doesn't look fun to navigate through =I
