As nineko wrote above, those were screenshots from my hack, Sonic 1 Color Contrast (and yes, the platforms are spinning). If you look closely, you'll notice that the boss is in a different zone. For those that found/unlocked this in the last build, you'll notice that the art in this secret act is now fixed, and the PLC's are all properly negotiated (along with a certain new, inundating hazard, seen in the second shot).

I don't.  That's why it looks impressive to me.

I can say it looks as if it was in the Scrap Brain Zone. (I could be wrong, but it's my best guess.)

@TheInvisibleSun: Looks cool. Also, first screenshot looks like a noir movie.

After a long work on setting Mega PCM, and optimizing the Z80 stops(to reduce bad quality), I finally added a WAV sample in game, lol. (holy thanks to vladikcomper for his holy Mega PCM driver and the tutorials...)

Currently working on a new hack. I only edited layouts, level, and music.

What's with the click at the end of the sample?

Also, I love you for that.

Nice work, really! I always loved Bridge Zone and I am always happy when it gets featured in some hack. Are you planning to recreate the boss, too? Because, 6 years ago, when I wanted to include Bridge Zone in my hack, Polygon Jim made a 16-bit styled version of that frontal Robotnik for me, I'm not sure how you could ask him for permission since he's no longer available, but I guess it wouldn't be that bad if you use it, in my opinion, it would be a tribute in some kind of way...

edit: oh, I just noticed your custom user title, I'm afraid that drx beats you by at least 10 years if not more :p

You sir, continue to floor me with your amazing work. I love the way everything is colored. It all blends well together with a nice feel to it. My only gripe is the shading. The artwork looks a bit too flat, and I personally think it needs more shading in there.

Thanks you all! I didn't thinked that someone will like my idea and/or art. As people liked it I decided to continue it.

I finished act 1 layout and I just finished the BG (there's with mormning palette):

Thanks to Painto for the Super Sonic's code!

PS: Ignore the bad BG's deformation, that we'll see later. :y

Oh, why would not the emulator display screen? D:

In General, looks very nice. Only, the background looks too empty, maybe it is worth it to somehow diversify?)

And that, originally, only noise in music not happy ears.

I agree. As an 8-bit fanboy I can only approve. Just fix the PCM samples' IDs, please.

@Painto: Wow. Your BZ revival is cool, background is awesome too. Now your hack is going to be Sonic 1 16-bit/2. =)

Sorry, I was drunk when I wrote that post, so I couldn't elaborate further. I assume you're using my Bridge Zone music (btw, Puto should be credited too since we did it together), if that's the case just replace all the $85s with $81s from $02D1 to $0363. Or you can do it the other way around and add a cymbal sample at ID $85.

Please note that you should always take PCM IDs into account when you port songs, otherwise you're always going to get static noises if a song tries to play a PCM sample which you don't have.

I've done some improvements on my hack, such as better layout in Ice Cap act 1 in comparision from version 4.0 to version 5.0:

    C&C welcome.
