General Screenshot/Movie Thread (Archive)

Great job to both SnakeCoiler and AsuharaMoon! I wanna see the Sonic sprite you're using, Asuhara. It looks cool, but that tree is blocking it.

 

No video this time around, but I do have some pictures. Have a screenshot each of two more zones from S2: TRoC...



The second zone of the game: Corrosive Factory Zone. Credit to Bakayote the Coyote Lord for the concept art thingy he sent me a few months back.



The third zone of the game: Ancient Lake Zone. As you can probably tell, most of the zones are overhauls of original Sonic 2 zones, but I've got a few brand-spanking-new zones up my sleeve as well, and I'll reveal them when I get to them.

 

Nice job so far! You're great with graphics!

 

My only nitpick would be that the shading for the shadow under the grass is too light in Ancient Lake Zone.

Otherwise, nice work!

 

They look awesome! I hope you have some crazy stuff planned for those currently blank backgrounds, but otherwise, I'm already interested in seeing the functional product in the future! Keep it up!

 

I have some pretty interesting stuff planned, trust me. It will take me some time due to me being a bit less experienced with background work, but they will come nonetheless. :>

Well, some criticism?

 

It's okay, I guess. It seems a little bland, and looks like an extremely simplified version of GHZ's background. If that's what your shooting for, it's okay, but you might want  to add more details. At least have more than one mountain chunk.

 

SnakeCoiler: loving the art you did there, especially that statue design. is this in sonic 3 by any chance? i ask because i notice the floating badnick from lava reef there.

TSR: Can't help but to say that your second screenshot of your zone art edit reminds me of this:



If anyone is curious of what this is, it was from a level creator made by sega a couple of years back. 

 

Edit? I've actually been making all new art for my hack from scratch. This way, I do not have to worry about overwriting important things.

...that art though...

 

Wow seems like, almost every Sonic 1 hacker, has a fetish for wanting to port to SCD now lmao. Anyway love the song choice, and art!

 

Except me. I don't actually think I'll be porting my hack into Sega CD as much as I love making music for Genesis Sound chip. Plus, Sega CD has loading times, It is not a real deal but it sucks for an impatient person like me =P

He most likely made them himself. Not all graphics in hacks are from other sources, and lots of the ones that do take graphics from other things don't always look good, but that's not always the case.

 

It looks awesome! I'm guessing the majority of the FG is hand drawn and some other parts are from other sources. The BG doesn't look hand drawn but if it is then great job!

Finally, you show something of this boss. Been seeing various iterations of this boss in private builds for over a year now. Past time to give at least a sampler of what you've been doing to the public.
