Yay! Updates! I added better sprites, and implemented aqua jet, a diagonal upward dash! BEcause of the updated sprites, the below pics are a little outdated...

I could not live without this hack, so naturally, here it is. Above water, Buizel pretty much plays like S2 sonic and tails, but below water, Buizel has two main abilities:

    Floating:

pressing and holding A underwater allows you to slowly float upwards, while moving side to side. This is very useful because it allows you to maneuver underwater in ball form. Doing this at the waters edge allows you to "skip" across it.

    Swimming:

Holding B underwater makes Buizel swim. Pressing A makes you go up, and pressing C makes you go down. You swim slightly faster if you don't touch the directional keys. This is much faster then floating, but it leaves you exposed to attacks. Similarly to floating, doing this at the waters edge allows you to "skip" across it in a similar fashion.

    Questions you may have:

Where did you get the sprites?

The pokemon Dungeon series, particularly explorers of time/darkness.

Why are all the palettes really weird?

The art was really finicky, so sonic's palette line got butchered quite a bit.

Will Buizel make me a steak dinner?

Genetically engineer one for me and I'll happily have it make a wonderful, romantic steak dinner for you!

    Credits:

Selbi: for the tutorials on the jumpdash and creating button checks, the swimming feature is a highly edited version of his jumpdash code.

I find this hack to be "meh".

All I really find this as is just a Tails only Sonic 2. Only some of the sprites were changed and Buizel only has a couple moves that only work underwater, and only 2 (3 if you count Hidden Palace Zone) zones use water.

    Sorry, but I'm not impressed.

I literally saw this coming.  When I first met you, Pacguy, my first thought was "Buizel stars in one of this guy's hacks."

Anyways, I find this to be an interesting hack.  Keep it up!

    @DwhitetheGamer: thanks :3

@Ralakimus: Yah, I was kinda bummed by the fact that the sonic games in general lack water, too. There's not much I could give buzel on land (beyond ripping tails flying, which would be awful), and the only game that has a proper amount of water is S3, which I don't plan to try to mess with anytime soon. At least CPZ2 and ARZ are fun!

I agree you've released this way too early. With sprites incomplete and palettes a bit of a mess, most people will probably do act 1 then turn it off.

Not saying to give it up, it could become a lot more. But next time, release it when it's actually finished. Then, I'd give this a good try.

It's okay, but it leaves me with one question...

    What's your favorite Pokémon?

    I mean,

I guess the only thing I really can say is finish the graphics.

And you might need to make your Buizel sprites to fit the hit box,

and not make it look lazy,

    other then that... Meh.

I'm working on it, an improved release is coming at some point (with better graphics and a new ability!)

Does anyone want to help me add some sprites to this? I've pretty much done everything I can to make it look good, but there are some sprites that I just can't replace (3D rotating, hanging, etc.). Contact me if you want to help, I used a different sprite set then before, so it has different style that new art will have to fit into.

Yay! Updates! I added aqua jet, a diagonal jumpdash which breaks EVERYTHING. I also added drastically improved sprites. Some notes:

Added extra secrets to Chemical Plant Zone

Some of Buizels sprites still default to tails old sprites (although this is somewhat rare)

2-player mode sends you to the level select screen

    ...pssst...

That's not how you spell Buizel.

    :)

Yah, it still has a few issues, that exact same problem actually haunts my other unreleased S2 hack as well...
