Yeah, I agree with Selbi. I usually edit project files by hand for this sort of thing.

(No, I don't work with Sonic 1, and no, I don't plan to extensively do so anytime in the near future.)

    Heh.

Why do people use SonED 2 anyways? The last version released was so sluggish I couldn't stand it. I miss the quick snaps of the original SonED.

Not only is it sluggish, but making object definitions with it are a pain, I feel like it takes longer to edit layout too, but it still does well with art editing, not that I've edited it, but just from glancing back at its editor and Sonlvl's, it seemed better. I totally recommend you to take Mainmemory's advice and use his editing tool, but that's just me.

Edit: By the way I kept reading, until now, the title as Sonlvl new project files, ha.

Because I'm used to it and I know what I am doing. If I can use it with no issues, there's no point trying/using another one =P

If everyone thought that way, we would never make any progress as a society.

Importing custom art is problematic in SonLVL at the time of writing.  SonED2 is also quite a bit easier for assigning collision and priority to new art, simply by virtue of its interface (which is by no means 'ideal') - SonLVL can technically do it, but it's a lot more tab swapping and cross referencing.

If I'm wrong about any of that, I'd love to be enlightened.

I like both tools but, when doing more basic tasks (layout editing), SonLVL is way easier and quicker to use. Especially when you have so many chunks and objects to work with.
